🌐 Can the American election affect Swedish startups?

Surely the American election will affect us all.

American politics has never been as interesting as it is now. In today's global world, we are also affected in different ways, and I claim that this also applies to startups and scaleups in Sweden.

How do I think this affects us? Well...

🔄 Trade and Partnerships: Trade agreements and regulations can change faster than you can say "ABBA". Stay tuned, because it may affect our exports and cooperation across the Atlantic! A more protectionist stance will mean increased costs and barriers.

Unfortunately, I have several negative experiences with, for example, Trump's increased tariffs from China, a setback when you produce there and sell to the US, as some of our portfolio companies do.

🌍 Global Economic Trends: American economic policies often have a domino effect on the global economy. Stimulus packages, tax policies, and investments in technology and innovation in the US can either drive or slow down global growth, affecting financing opportunities and market prospects for Swedish startups.

💼 Investments: American investors like Swedish innovation. However, changes in US policy can affect investors' inclination to invest in international startups. A stable and positive investment climate can increase capital flow to Swedish startups, while uncertainty can lead to a more cautious attitude.

🌱 Innovation and Technology: If the US continues to pump money into new technology, we may be able to join the journey. Today, they invest heavily in new technology, such as AI and green energy solutions, and this can open up collaboration opportunities and partnerships for Swedish startups in these areas. But, will they continue to do this now?

So, let's follow the drama in the US. It's almost like an exciting TV series - but with real consequences for our businesses!

It is now official that Carlson Invest has sold our shares in the great company, Headbanger Lures. 🚀 They will team up in a new constellation with Leech which is a Scandinavian eyewear brand who have products for fishing and water-related activities.

It has been an incredibly exciting journey to follow the company’s success in the U.S. market 🇺🇸, and I am deeply impressed by how Martin Engelmark, Dan Lestander and team have managed to build a hot brand across the Atlantic—all the way from Luleå! 🌍

With over 100,000 social media followers 📲, thousands of positive reviews online ⭐️, and more than 1.5 million lures sold 🐟, you can’t help but tip your hat to all that has been achieved over the years.

Now, being able to watch the company's progress from the sidelines and see how it takes the next step together with the amazing team at Leech is incredibly exciting. 💪
