📈 How to Trade on Company Financial News 📉

Market movements are often driven by financial news, making it crucial for traders to understand how to react to company reports. Public companies release key financial data—such as revenue, net income, earnings per share, and cash flow—through quarterly and annual reports. These reports can have a direct impact on stock prices:

✅ Better-than-expected results? Share prices often rise.
❌ Worse-than-expected results? Share prices may decline.

But that’s not all! A company’s financial performance can also influence its competitors' stock prices. Staying updated on these reports is essential—but tracking financial news manually can be time-consuming.

That’s why we’ve developed a smart newsfeed on our research platform, aggregating key financial reports from multiple sources. With real-time updates and relevant insights, you can stay ahead of the market and make informed trading decisions.

📈 Understanding the Stochastic Oscillator in Trading 📉

The stochastic oscillator is a widely-used tool for identifying whether a market is nearing overbought or oversold levels. By comparing the closing price of an asset to its price range over a given time, it provides valuable insights into market conditions.

Here’s how it works:

Scale: Ranges from 0 to 100.
80 or above: Overbought
20 or below: Oversold
Reversal Signals: Reaching these points often indicates a potential trend reversal, but strong trends may sustain these levels longer.
Two Lines:
One reflects the oscillator’s current value.
The other is a 3-day simple moving average. Crossovers signal potential trend changes.
The default setting is 14 days, but you can adjust it for more sensitive readings.

Pro Tip: Use the stochastic oscillator in choppy markets, while the RSI is better suited for trending markets.

Unlock the Power of Moving Averages for Smarter Trading with PSS
If you're looking to gain a clearer understanding of market trends, PSS’s Moving Average (MA) indicator is a valuable tool. This indicator helps traders identify the general direction of price movements by calculating the average price over a set period, creating a smooth progression in the chart. As each period ends, the calculation moves forward, providing a rolling average that reflects price trends more accurately.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the four types of moving averages you can adjust within the indicator:
1. Simple Moving Average (SMA): Calculates the straightforward average over a specified period.
2. Exponential Moving Average (EMA): Smooths the trend by giving more weight to recent prices, helping reduce lag.
3. Weighted Moving Average (WMA): Prioritizes current prices, reducing the influence of older data.
4. Smoothed Simple Moving Average (SSMA): Focuses on longer-term trends by factoring in historical prices more extensively.
When two different MAs intersect, it often signals a potential trend reversal, giving you a strategic advantage. Customize the settings to suit your trading strategy and make informed decisions with PSS’s Moving Average indicator.

💡 How to Calculate Profit and Loss in Trading 💡

Understanding how to calculate your profit and loss is key to enhancing your trading experience. At PSS, we make it simple! Here's a quick guide:

1️⃣ Long Position (Buying)
When you expect the value of an asset to rise, you're "going long."
Formula:
📈 (Closing Price - Opening Price) x Investment Amount

Example:

You invest $10,000 in EURUSD at 1.25.
If the price increases to 1.26 and you close the trade, your profit is $100. [(1.26 - 1.25) * $10,000]
💡 In Forex, 1 lot = $100,000, so $10,000 is 0.1 lot.

2️⃣ Short Position (Selling)
When you expect the value to drop, you're "going short."
Formula:
📉 (Opening Price - Closing Price) x Investment Amount

Example:

You sell 10 BTC at $11,000.
The price drops to $10,000, and you close the trade. Your profit is $10,000. [($11,000 - $10,000) * 10 BTC]
Happy trading with PSS! 🚀

Leverage allows you to boost your initial investment by borrowing extra funds. For example:

1:10 leverage: Invest $100 → Earn $10 for the same 1% increase by leveraging up to $1000! 💰
Remember, while leverage can increase your profits, it can also amplify your losses. Use it wisely, especially during volatile markets.

Understanding the Stochastic Oscillator 🚨

The stochastic oscillator is a valuable tool for traders to determine if a market is overbought or oversold at a given time. This indicator compares an asset's closing price to its price range over a specific time period, and works on a 0-100 scale.

📈 Key Levels:

80 or higher = Overbought
20 or lower = Oversold
Hitting these levels often signals a potential market reversal, though strong trends may stay in these zones longer. The indicator also includes two lines: one showing the oscillator's current value, and the other representing a 3-day moving average. When these lines cross, a trend reversal could be imminent.

🛠 Tip: While similar to the RSI, the stochastic oscillator is better suited for choppy markets, while the RSI is more effective during trends.
