During GWP’s 30-year celebration in Stockholm, Alex Simalabwi CEO and Executive Secretary - GWPO, reflected on the unexpected journey that led to Namibia becoming the future home of GWPO’s new dual Headquarters.

“I recognised then that Namibia had a long history, a very quiet history with this organisation and partnership.”

As Mr. Simalabwi shared, the deeper the team explored GWP’s history, the clearer it became that Namibia’s connection to the partnership stretched back decades - including hosting GWP’s first-ever regional meeting outside Stockholm in 1997.

Now, that history becomes part of GWP’s future.

As GWP enters a new era with its dual Headquarters in Windhoek, Namibia and Cape Town, South Africa, the organisation is building on 30 years of global cooperation to accelerate the water investment transformation agenda and strengthen security worldwide.
