Renovation Works Begin on UN House in Riyadh

UNDP Resident Representative, Dr. Adam C. Bouloukos, was pleased to officially launch the renovation project of the UN House in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The works will be done by Saudi Icon, a local firm, and will take 6 months. The project will completely transform the interior of the approximately 4100 square meter UN House to better accommodate the staff of several UN agencies and the World Bank.
The result will be a modern facility with state of the art ventilation, efficient air conditioning, and plenty of natural light. At the launch, Dr. Bouloukos gave credit to his team for their diligent efforts in moving the project ahead. تنظم الهيئة الجيومكانية برنامجاً تدريباً "شؤون المحيطات وقانون البحار" بالتعاون مع شعبة شؤون المحيطات وقانون البحار التابع للأمم المتحدة, من خلال برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي. يهدف البرنامج التدريبي إلى فهم النظام القانوني والمؤسسي للبحار والمحيطات.

الآلاف من الحيوانات البحرية تموت من تناول البلاستيك أو من التفاف منتجات #البلاستيك عليها مثل الأكياس. تستهلك الأسماك فى المحيط الهادى ما يقرب من 12000 إلى 24000 طن سنوياً من البلاستيك، والذى يسبب لهم مشاكل وإصابات خطيرة فى الجهاز الهضمى مما يؤدى إلى نفوق الأسماك.
