MetaWealth completes the first financing round of its battery energy storage (BESS) programme in Romania, with a total investment value of โ‚ฌ160 million and financing from CEC Bank.

The first โ‚ฌ19 million financing package supports the development of the Dumbrava BESS project, a 50 MW / 100 MWh energy storage facility in Neamศ› County.

This milestone marks the first financial close within MetaWealthโ€™s BESS series, strengthening the companyโ€™s position in the development of critical energy infrastructure.

BESS 1 is progressing according to plan and has now entered the ex*****on phase.

Construction works are underway, with the EPC contractor appointed, performance bonds in place, and the Notice to Proceed issued.

All major equipment has been manufactured and successfully passed factory acceptance testing. The 63 MVA transformer has also been shipped and is expected to arrive at the Port of Constanศ›a in early September 2026.

As BESS 1 advances through construction, BESS 2 is now open for investment, starting from โ‚ฌ25,000.
