•Blueprint & Schematic Fluency: Possesses an exceptional ability to read and interpret complex electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic layouts, and specifications.
•System Knowledge: Demonstrates a deep understanding of low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV), high voltage (HV) systems, ELV (Extra-Low Voltage) systems, lighting, power distribution, switchgears, and grounding systems.

MECHANICAL ESTIMATION ENGINEER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·The individual will be an integral part of an MEP Estimation team that is accountable for estimating tenders and the commercial/contractual performance of projects
·Review tender documents, communicate with stakeholders, and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify gaps or uncertainties.
·Organize and prepare the scope of MEP work, ensuring clarity and alignment with project requirements.
·Visit project sites to assess conditions and requirements firsthand and prepare reports for reference during the estimation process.
·Coordinate with suppliers to gather quotes, maintain records, and send out Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages.
·Obtain multiple supplier quotes, ensuring competitive pricing through follow-up communications and negotiations.
·Review supplier quotes to ensure compliance with project specifications outlined in tender documents and drawings.
·Compile a detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) reflecting project cost components for timely tender submission.
·Verify quantities against project drawings and BOQ and prepare additional or omission BOQs as needed.
·Compile a comparison of supplier quotations to facilitate informed decision-making on pricing and procurement.
·Break down material costs and potential discounts to optimize procurement strategies and maximize cost savings.

·Review the client requirement as per the standards and design and calculation of HVAC & Mechanical systems
·Conceptual designing of HVAC systems and cooling loads, duct and pipes sizing, water supply, drainage and firefighting systems by ASHRAE, ANSI, CIBSE, IBC, NFPA and local codes like SCDA, SBC codes requirements for Estimating Purposes
·Collaborate with technical colleagues to ensure alignment between commercial and technical aspects of tender submissions.
·Identify opportunities for value engineering, present cost-saving proposals to clients, and prepare price comparisons.
·Ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations by preparing tender qualifications and reservations.
·Compile a list of vendors and suppliers considered for the tender process by the specified vendor list available.
·Address post-tender queries or clarifications from clients and prepare required responses.
·Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely completion of all aspects of the tender submission process.
·Assist the Estimating Manager in preparing indirect costs for tender submissions
·Monitor and guide estimators: During the estimating process for proper submission & preparation of BOQ and other required details necessary for management review

JOB REQUIREMENTS

07-12 years Minimum years of experience required in estimation GCC experience is a must.
A degree in Mechanical engineering is required.
Knowledge of Estimating software like CCS Candy will be an advantage. Microsoft Office experience is a must.
Knowledge of Estimating take-off Software like Plan Swift / Bluebeam
