In particular, the Financial Times highlights , launched in 2022, and explains how it has attracted companies from around the world, demonstrating the impact this project has had on the city and the country.

The publication states that the “city’s thriving startup ecosystem and good quality of life, along with Portugal’s favorable tax regime for skilled immigrants and tax credits for research and development” have been major draws.

It’s Friday! Weekend is the perfect time to explore Lisbon’s newest spots, where flavour, design and culture come together across the city.

Okohi 🇯🇵 Japanese minimalism arrives in Príncipe Real through a tiny grab-and-go café serving matcha, hojicha, sakura and black sesame drinks. With light wood interiors, curated details and signature lattes, it’s a calm and carefully designed stop.

Rivage 🌊 A new riverside restaurant in Algés that evolves from laid-back dining into a late-night club atmosphere, between thursdays to saturdays night. Portuguese cuisine takes centre stage, while DJs, cocktails and sunset views bring a vibrant energy to the space. Rivage, which means “on the shore of” in french, draws its inspiration from the colors of 1950s Mediterranean boats. The kitchen is led by Gonçalo do Canto.

Kimbap de Belém 🇰🇷 Cristal Jung brought authentic Korean flavours from Seoul to Lisbon with a menu centred around freshly made kimbap. Alongside bibimbap, ramyeon and tteokbokki, this cosy Graça spot delivers comforting Korean classics with a homemade touch.

Lisbon Book Fair 📚 Lisbon’s beloved book fair returns to Parque Eduardo VII with thousands of books, open-air conversations, sunset strolls and cultural programming. One of the city’s essential traditions for slow afternoons and warm evenings in early summer. Open until june 14th.

Cine Society 🎞️ Open-air cinema nights return to Lisbon with a new terrace in Príncipe Real overlooking the city and the castle. From cult classics to feel-good favourites, films are screened under the summer sky with cocktails, blankets and panoramic views, during june and july.

has announced the launch of its European Sovereign Cloud and is part of this strategy with the creation of a sovereign in the country. The project aims to address growing demands for , , and residency within the European Union.

The deployment of a Local Zone in Portugal will increase cloud adoption by businesses, accelerate the development of local digital industries, attract new users from beyond borders, create more than 17.000 jobs, and estimate a total economic impact that could reach 3 billion euros, representing a 1.014% increase in GDP.

This investment reinforces Portugal’s position as a major in Europe and could accelerate the adoption of cloud and solutions in more heavily regulated sectors, both in the public and private sectors.
