We work with law firms, banks and wealth managers who refer their clients to us for Portuguese tax support. Here is how it works.

Many of our new clients come through professional introductions, from a solicitor in Dublin, a private banker in London, an estate agent in the Algarve, or a family office in Zurich.

The introducing firm trusts us to look after their client, communicate clearly, and stay within our defined scope of work.

In return, their client receives expert Portuguese tax representation, while their firm gains a reliable partner for the areas of their client’s affairs they cannot manage themselves.

If you work with clients who have Portuguese property, investments or tax obligations, and you do not currently have a Portuguese tax advisor you trust, we would be delighted to introduce ourselves.

The June deadline for Portuguese IRS has passed. If you did not file, here is what to do.

Missing the deadline does not mean ignoring it. In Portugal, late filing can trigger penalties, and if the tax authority already has information about your Portuguese income or property transactions, it can assess your position without your input.

An assessment made without your involvement will not include any reliefs or elections you may have been entitled to.

The practical advice is simple: file as soon as possible, even if you are late. Proactive regularisation is always cheaper than waiting.

If you missed the June deadline and are unsure what to do next, we can help.

Considering a move to Portugal? The NHR regime has changed. Here is what you need to know about NHR 2.0 (IFICI).

The original Non Habitual Resident regime ended for new applicants after 2023. In its place, Portugal introduced the IFICI regime, which offers a 20% flat rate on qualifying Portuguese source income for up to ten years.

Qualifying activities include technology, R&D, highly skilled professions, and certain investment roles.

If you have already moved to Portugal or are planning to do so in 2026, the application needs to be submitted correctly and within the relevant timeframe.

Our team has guided clients through every stage of the NHR and now IFICI process for over a decade.

If you registered under Portugal’s new IFICI tax regime, the successor to NHR, here is why mid-year is worth a second look.

IFICI is a generous regime, but it is also a precise one. The qualifying income categories are narrower than NHR, documentation requirements are strict, and the interaction with the new UK–Portugal tax treaty, in force since January 2026, means that British nationals in particular need to review their assumptions.

We are seeing year-one IFICI holders who entered the regime expecting one outcome but are now facing a different reality, either because their income does not clearly fit the qualifying categories or because the treaty has changed their position in unexpected ways.

A mid-year review is straightforward. If you are on IFICI and have any uncertainty, it is better to know now than in June next year.

The IRS deadline has passed — but that doesn't mean the window is closed.

If you missed the June deadline, or if you think your Portuguese tax return may need amending, it is still possible to correct the position.

Late filings and voluntary disclosures are treated differently from assessments raised by the tax authority — acting now is always better than waiting.

We work with international clients across all income types: rental income, capital gains, pensions, employment income and more.

If you are unsure whether your Portuguese obligations are up to date, a short conversation is often all it takes.

Fifteen years is a long time to rely on one team for your Portuguese tax affairs. Here is what that relationship has actually covered.

A British family we have advised since the early 2010s came to us through the original NHR regime.

Since then, we have handled their annual filings, managed their transition from EU to non-EU status after Brexit, advised on two property transactions, and recently reviewed their position under the new UK–Portugal Double Taxation Treaty.

Each of those moments required different knowledge, different paperwork, and different conversations with the Autoridade Tributária.

The family did not need to explain their history to us each time — we already had it.

If you are a British owner of Portuguese property and have not had a proper review of your position since Brexit — or since the new treaty took effect in January 2026 — this is the year to do it.

Letting your Algarve property this summer? Here is what you are legally required to do — and what most owners miss.

Rental income from Portuguese property must be declared in Portugal. Full stop.

It does not matter whether you live in the UK, Ireland, Germany or anywhere else — if the property is in Portugal and it earns rent, it is taxable here under Category F.

If you are letting through Airbnb or Booking.com, you also need an AL (Alojamento Local) licence — and the income tax treatment has specific rules that differ from a standard tenancy.

We handle rental compliance for international owners every year.

If you are not sure whether you are correctly declared, now is a good time to check.

A lot of our clients tell us they had no idea what a fiscal representative actually did before they came to us. So here is an honest answer.

We act as your registered point of contact with the Portuguese tax authority. That means all official correspondence — every letter, every notice, every filing — goes through us.

We translate, respond and manage. When there is a deadline, we handle it. When there is a question from the AT, we answer it. When the law changes in a way that affects you, we tell you before you need to ask.

The relationship is deliberately simple: you tell us when something changes in your Portuguese affairs. We handle the rest.

If you have been managing Portuguese tax admin yourself — or through someone who is not entirely sure of the rules — we would be happy to explain what proper representation looks like.

Portugal's new regime for relocating professionals. Narrower than NHR, often misunderstood.
For: founders, researchers, tech executives, academics.
Not for: retirees, passive investors, lifestyle movers.
For the right profile, a 20% flat rate on qualifying income — but the planning has to happen before you trigger tax residency. Full technical note on the blog. Link in bio.
