Life doesn’t always give us time to prepare after something happens. That’s why protection is something worth thinking about before it’s needed.

Life insurance can help provide financial support for the people who depend on you; whether that means helping with everyday expenses, outstanding obligations, or future family goals.

It’s not about expecting the worst. It’s about making sure the people you care about have a plan to lean on if life takes an unexpected turn.

Your health can change without warning. Your financial plan should be prepared for that possibility. The right health insurance coverage can help you manage eligible medical expenses and reduce the financial pressure that may come with unexpected care, treatment, or hospitalization.

Protection is not only about planning for retirement or building wealth. It is also about protecting the income, savings, and stability you already have. Make sure your coverage still fits your needs, your family, and your current stage of life.

If you own a business, your retirement plan may have more room to work with in 2026 than it did last year, but are you actually using it?

Updated contribution limits could create new planning opportunities for certain business owners and self-employed professionals. The important part is knowing which rules apply to your plan and what those changes could mean for your strategy.

Swipe through to see what changed for 2026 and whether your current retirement plan is keeping up.

A retirement withdrawal can affect more than your bank balance. For Medicare beneficiaries, higher income may trigger IRMAA surcharges, increasing what you pay for Part B and Part D. And because Medicare generally looks back at your tax return from two years earlier, a financial decision you make today can influence future healthcare costs.

That is why retirement income planning should look beyond the amount you withdraw. The timing of withdrawals, Roth conversions, and other income sources can all play a role in helping you manage taxable income more strategically.

Your retirement balance tells you how much you’ve accumulated, not necessarily how much you’ll get to spend.

Traditional 401(k) withdrawals can create taxable income, and larger withdrawals may have ripple effects beyond the tax bill. They can potentially affect your marginal tax bracket, Medicare IRMAA surcharges, and how much of your Social Security benefits are taxable.

Then there are Required Minimum Distributions, which can eventually reduce how much control you have over when taxable income shows up.

That’s why retirement planning shouldn’t focus only on building the biggest account balance. It should also consider where your future income will come from, tax-deferred, potentially tax-free, and taxable sources. More flexibility can mean more choices when retirement arrives.

Paying taxes is part of doing business, but how you plan for retirement can influence how much of your income stays working toward your future.

For certain self-employed professionals and business owners in Puerto Rico, a Keogh Plan can offer more contribution flexibility than a traditional IRA while creating potential tax advantages today.

The opportunity can be valuable, but the structure matters. Your income, type of business, contribution capacity, and long-term retirement goals should all be considered before setting one up.

A good retirement plan should do more than help you save, it should fit the way you earn.

An IRA in Puerto Rico is not always treated the same as a U.S. IRA.

Puerto Rico has its own tax system, so rules for contributions, deductions, distributions, and reporting can differ. Even when contribution limits are similar, the tax treatment may not be.

Where you live, earn income, and hold the account can all affect your retirement strategy.

Before contributing, rolling over, or withdrawing, make sure you understand which rules apply to you.
