❌ “A thick rug and some curtains are enough for good acoustics.” The problem is, that’s only part of the truth. Heavy textiles can indeed calm the top end a bit, but they won’t deal with bass or with echo – the things that cause most of the issues when you’re listening.
The result is often the opposite of what you wanted – the room becomes overdamped in the high frequencies, while the low and midrange still boom, speech is still hard to understand, and the mix sounds different in every spot in the room.
👉 Things only really change when purpose-designed acoustic absorbers, diffusers and bass traps come into play. They act precisely on specific frequency ranges, making the sound much clearer.
