Despite the panic mode on the Ukrainian currency market and active currency buying by the National bank of Ukraine at interbank market the situation is quite stable. The international investment company Millstone&Co highlights that 29.3bn USD available in central bank of Ukraine reserves for now allows the regulator to overcome short-term turbulence on the currency market.

More than that, Andriy Prykhodko, the head of research of Millstone&Co company, points out that 1.2bn euro of EU micro financial assistance to Ukraine will help to compensate Ukrainian FX reserves.

The international investment company noted that the major part of currency is being bought for psychological reasons because non-resident portfolio of Ukrainian public bonds reduced by 0.5bn USD, which resulted in buying out US dollars. Since the beginning of the year, the National bank of Ukraine has sold 1.56bn USD and bought 0.61bn USD. Thus, net buying of USD totaled 0.95bn USD

European Lithium, an Australian company (ASX:EUR), (FRA:РF8), (OTC:EULIF), shareholders agreed with Millstone&Co on co-exploration of two rare metal deposits in Ukraine and on co-implementing the European Lithium existing project – Wolfsberg in Carinthia (Austria).

Stock exchanges published this information on January 21.

In November 2021 Millstone&Co, an international investment company, and European Lithium made the agreement on co-exploration of lithium projects in Ukraine and Austria. Michael Zhernov, a managing partner of Millstone&Co, was officially appointed to the EL’s Board of Directors.

Millstone&Co is a private investment company that provides investment services to its clients. The company has offices in Warsaw, Kraków, Kyiv and Dubai.

Ukrainian economy growth in 1Q 2022 will be slow, but last year record-breaking grain crops may mitigate negative consequences.

Thus, according to Andriy Prykhodko, the head of research of Millstone&Co company, inflation slows down real growth of households’ expenditures and expensive energy sources lead to reduction or even shutting down of production in many sectors of economy.

At the same time, he noted that situation with key Ukrainian goods for export remains positive.

According to IMF data Millstone&Co, the International Investment company, predicts 3.6% of GDP growth in 2022. However, possible new lockdowns due to COVID-19 can change the predictions

Michael Zhernov, a managing partner of international investment company Millstone&Co, is officially appointed to the Board of Directors of European Lithium (EUR:AU) Australian company. It was published on the company’s web site on December 22, 2021.

We remind that Millstone&Co bought a share of European Lithium (EUR:AU) and invited it to explore lithium on two deposits in Ukraine. The corresponding agreement was made in November 2021.

Michael Zhernov has had over 20 years’ experience in financial sector of Ukraine, CIA, Central and West Europe.
