Selecting stone is a design decision, not just a material choice.

In premium and hospitality interiors, what matters most is the specific slab: its pattern, veining, depth of colour, scale and the way it reacts to light. Every piece is unique, which is why natural stone often becomes one of the elements that defines the character of the entire space.

Well chosen stone does not dominate by accident. It brings order to the interior, strengthens its identity and stays relevant for years.

As Rafał Szubstarski, editor in chief of Hotelarz magazine, said, it was our work that inspired him to create a panel dedicated to project management during the HIT – Hotel Investment Trends Poland & CEE 2026 conference.

Project management has been one of AKA Studio’s core services for over 15 years. From new hotel developments to complex modernisations and restaurant adaptations, we know how strongly effective coordination impacts the success of an investment.

During the discussion, Agata Łapuchowska, co owner of AKA Studio, highlighted how important it is to involve a project manager already at the stage of the first architectural concepts.

Thank you for the invitation to be part of such a valuable discussion and thank you to all fellow panel participants for sharing their experience and perspectives.

B&B HOTEL Wrocław Old Town / is located right next to the Market Square. The aim of our project was to create a clear storytelling concept, functional and comfortable guest rooms, and inviting common areas, while highlighting the building’s historic interior details.

Very soon, we’ll take you on a journey through the hotel and share more details of the project.

When designing the interiors of B&B HOTEL Wrocław Old Town / we chose to reinterpret Art Déco in a contemporary way.

In this reel, architect Magdalena Chrzanowska talks about the project and the design of the interiors.

Bold forms, a rich colour palette, geometric patterns and velvet fabrics create a dialogue with the building’s existing architectural elements.

From the very beginning, we knew the project had to be approached with full respect for the original details and the architectural heritage of this unique place. Historic features have been preserved throughout the interiors, including one of only three remaining paternoster lifts in Poland.

In the next few reels, we’ll take you inside B&B HOTEL Wrocław Old Town / our latest hospitality project.

In this reel, architect Katarzyna Berent talks about the project and the design of the interiors.

The hotel is located right next to the Market Square, in a building that has become one of Wrocław’s architectural icons. It was completed in 1931 as the headquarters of the Municipal Savings Bank, based on a design by Heinrich Rump.

The building reflected the architectural ideas of its time while embracing modernist thinking and a fascination with New York skyscrapers, strongly associated with Max Berg, then the city architect of Wrocław and chairman of the competition jury.

The construction of a high rise building in the historic city centre sparked considerable controversy. It required the demolition of three townhouses, some dating back to the Middle Ages, as well as approvals from a total of 54 different offices and institutions.

Carefully selected or specially commissioned art is an integral part of high end hotels, offices and development projects. It appears in representative areas as well as outside, where it emphasises the character and status of the property from the very first encounter.

Looking for inspiration for our projects, we visit the studios of leading Polish artists. At the invitation of we had a unique opportunity to visit see the galleries and the sculpture park.

In his practice, Xawery Wolski combines sculpture, installation, drawing, textile and photography. He works with marble, terracotta, bronze, silk and wool, while also using unconventional materials such as bread, seeds, plant stems and silicone.

By shaping matter, he gives it a metaphorical dimension. He creates poetic images and figures in which art becomes a reflection on existence, history, memory, duration and the creative act itself.

The artist’s body of work includes more than eighty exhibitions around the world.

Our latest hotel interior design project is located in one of Wrocław’s iconic buildings.

The interiors respond to the building’s modernist heritage while referencing Art Déco aesthetics. Wherever possible, we preserved original historic elements to maintain the character and authenticity of the space.

W tym roku świętujemy 10 lecie AKA Studio. 🎉

This year, we’re celebrating 10 years of AKA Studio 🎉
It’s a good moment to pause and look back at the journey we’ve been on. From our early days in project management within the HoReCa sector, through challenging projects that needed to be “rescued”, to building our own studio with a clear design language and projects delivered across Poland and Europe.

Today, we work across the entire process, from concept to completion, designing hotels, offices and private spaces. Every project is different, but they all share a consistent approach to space and a strong focus on user experience.
