*Customs Personnel Display Exemplary Bravery & Commitment to Service in the Face of Dastardly Terrorist Attack at Yarik Customs Check-Post.*
*One Sepoy Embraces Shahadat.*

In a pre-dawn terrorist attack on the Customs Check Post (CCP) Yarik, at 00:30 hours, on the Wednesday (18th of February, 2026) personnel of Pakistan Customs came under heavy assault by terrorists who demanded surrender of arms and of the Check Post. Displaying extraordinary courage, steadfastness and resolve, Customs personnel repelled the assault with 27 officials valiantly defending their post against the terrorists who were armed with sophisticated weapons.
A heavy exchange of fire ensued for over sixty minutes. Despite the intensity of the assault and repeated calls by the terrorists to surrender, Customs personnel held their ground with unwavering determination, preventing a greater loss of life and refusing to capitulate.
Tragically, during the exchange, Sepoy Muhammad Ibrar embraced shahadat while defending the sovereignty of the post. Another sepoy, Muhammad Noman, sustained critical injuries and was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for treatment. A third sepoy, Khanwez Khan, is currently reported missing and is suspected to have been abducted during the incident. The terrorists also managed to inflict damage to the check post.
Member Customs (Operations) and the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Peshawar, extends its deepest gratitude to the family of Shaheed Muhammad Ibrar and salutes the indomitable spirit and courage displayed by the Shaheed in the service to the country and the nation. Had it not been for him and his extraordinary bravery, the loss to life and property would have been far more.
Chairman FBR, while extending gratitude for the invaluable services rendered by Shaheed Muhammad Ibrar, stated that the Federal Board of Revenue and Pakistan Customs Service, stands firmly by the family of the Shaheed and directed that the Prime Minister’s Shahuda Package is to be disbursed to the family of the Shaheed without delay, including offer of appointment in the department to the Shaheed’s widow.
Shaheed Muhammad Ibrar was 28 years of age at the time he embraced shahadat and belonged to the village P/O Darra Pezu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan. Shaheed Muhammad Ibrar had rendered four years of exemplary and irreplaceable service to the country and had gotten married one month earlier in January 2026. The Shaheed is survived by his parents, widow and three siblings.
The discipline and commitment to duty in the face of a grave security threat exemplify the highest traditions of the Pakistan Customs Service. Further details regarding the identification of the assailants and efforts to locate the missing sepoy will be shared as they become available.

دہشت گردوں نے بدھ، 18 فروری 2026 کو رات ساڑھے بارہ بجے یارک کسٹمز چیک پوسٹ پر پاکستان کسٹمز کے اہلکاروں پر حملہ کیا اور ہتھیار ڈالنے اور چیک پوسٹ خالی کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔ غیر معمولی جرات، استقامت اور عزم کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے 27 کسٹمز اہلکاروں نے جدید ہتھیاروں سے لیس دہشت گردوں کے خلاف ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا اور حملہ پسپا کر دیا۔
ایک گھنٹہ سے زائد دورانیہ تک شدید فائرنگ کا تبادلہ جاری رہا۔ حملے کی شدت اور دہشت گردوں کی جانب سے بار بار ہتھیار ڈالنے کے مطالبات کے باوجود کسٹمز اہلکار ثابت قدم رہے اور غیر متزلزل عزم کے ساتھ اپنی پوزیشن سنبھالے رکھی اور بڑے پیمانے پر جانی نقصان ہونے سے بچایا اور دشمن کے سامنے سر تسلیم خم کرنے سے انکار کیا۔
فائرنگ کے تبادلے کے دوران سپاہی محمد ابرار نے چیک پوسٹ کا دفاع کرتے ہوئے جامِ شہادت نوش کیا۔ ایک اور سپاہی محمد نعمان شدید زخمی ہوا جسے فوری طور پر طبی امداد کے لیے ہسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا۔ تیسرا سپاہی خانویز خان اس وقت تک لاپتہ ہے اور شبہ ہے کہ انہیں واقعے کے دوران اغوا کر لیا گیا۔ دہشت گردوں نے چیک پوسٹ کو بھی جزوی نقصان پہنچایا۔
ممبر کسٹمز (آپریشنز) اور کلکٹوریٹ آف کسٹمز (انفورسمنٹ) پشاور نے شہید اہلکار محمد ابرار کے اہلِ خانہ سے دلی تعزیت کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے وطن اور قوم کی خدمت میں شہید کی ناقابلِ تسخیر جرات اور عزم کو سلام پیش کیا اور کہا ہے کہ اگر انہوں نے غیر معمولی بہادری کا مظاہرہ نہ کیا ہوتا تو جانی و مالی نقصان کہیں زیادہ ہو سکتا تھا۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے شہید محمد ابرار کی گراں قدر خدمات کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو اور پاکستان کسٹمز سروس شہید کے اہلِ خانہ کے ساتھ مکمل یکجہتی کا اظہار کرتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے ہدایت کی کہ وزیرِ اعظم شہداء پیکیج فوری طور پر شہید کے خاندان کو فراہم کیا جائے، جس میں شہید کی بیوہ کو محکمے میں ملازمت کی پیشکش بھی شامل ہے۔
شہادت کے منصب پر فائز ہو تے وقت محمد ابرار کی عمر 28 برس تھی اور ان کا تعلق گاؤں ڈاک خانہ درہ پیزو، ضلع لکی مروت سے تھا۔ انہوں نے ملک و قوم کی چار سال تک مثالی اور ناقابلِ فراموش خدمات انجام دیں۔ ان کی شادی صرف ایک ماہ پہلے جنوری 2026 میں ہوئی تھی۔ پسماندگان میں والدین، بیوہ اور تین بہن بھائی شامل ہیں۔
سنگین سکیورٹی خطرات کے باوجود جس نظم و ضبط اور فرض شناسی کا مظاہرہ کیا گیا وہ پاکستان کسٹمز سروس کی اعلیٰ روایات کا عکاس ہے۔ حملہ آوروں کی شناخت اور لاپتہ سپاہی کی بازیابی کے حوالے سے مزید تفصیلات دستیاب ہوتے ہی جاری کی جائیں گی۔
