Surah Al-Fajr (verses 14–20) highlights the consequences of human arrogance, negligence, and the true nature of success and failure in the sight of Allah.

These verses describe how Allah tests human beings by both prosperity and hardship. When a person is given blessings, wealth, and comfort, they often become proud and assume Allah has honored them. However, when they are tested with reduced sustenance, they wrongly believe Allah has humiliated them. The Surah corrects this thinking by explaining that honor and disgrace are not based on wealth or poverty, but on faith, gratitude, and righteous behavior.

The passage then strongly criticizes human behavior toward wealth. It points out that people are overly attached to material possessions and fail to care for orphans, the poor, and those in need. Instead of encouraging generosity, they often consume inheritance unjustly and love wealth with extreme attachment.

Finally, the verses warn that on the Day of Judgment, everything will be revealed. The earth will be crushed and flattened, and Allah’s command will come to pass. At that time, no one will be able to escape accountability. The Surah reminds believers that true success lies in preparing for the Hereafter, not in collecting worldly riches.
