Today, when the muslims are ignoring the teachings of islam and spending their lives in lusts and desires the result is apparent. We see with our eyes how falsehood is becoming stronger and how our societies are getting deviated and being trapped by shaytan. Spending life being firm on islam is becoming day by day and it is evident if we listen to what rasulAllah s,a,w said 1400 years ago. Anas bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “There shall come upon the people a time in which the one who is steadfast upon his religion will be like the one holding onto a burning ember.” (Hasan) [Chapters on Al-Fitan: Jami At-Tirmidhi]
The scholars say under the commentary of above hadith that the Muslim Ummah shall pass through periods when wickedness, lewdness and sinfulness will hold sway in society, and the believers shall find it extremely difficult to preserve their faith, and swim against the surging tide of worldly benefits and gains. Holding onto one’s faith under these conditions will in fact be like holding on to a live coal in the palm of one’s hand, which will be a highly challenging and trying task. We experience it but we should always remember and recall within ourselves that this life is a trial and test. Life is once and the difficulties are also once. Save yourself from the hellfire by tackling them in this dunya or otherwise there’s hell that is screeming to be filled with humans and jinns. So the choice is our’s whether we prefer the temporary life or the eternal one. On the other hand there are voices of change being raised by the people who don’t even know themselves and their purpose of creation. Just highlighting, the change begins with “I” not “You”. The problem is, we want to change others and forgot to change ourselves. As said in the Quran:
أَتَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبِرِّ وَتَنسَوۡنَ أَنفُسَكُمۡ
Do you enjoin right conduct on the people and forget (to practise it) yourselves??.... (surah baqarah ayah 43)
Despite the fact that dawah towards Allah s,w,t is obligatory on everyone we need to focus on ourselves also that how much we are striving to bring close our nafs to Allah s,w,t. ((Be the change the world wants to see)). A true believer is always worried about his relation with his creator whether he is pleased or not. In these difficult times, people calling others towards deen and facing the difficulties and hardships in the form of retaliation should be the most peaceful, relaxed and satisfied in their hearts. And their relation with Allah s,a,w proves it. But the reality is opposite to what should be. We see that islam is being restricted to masajids only and being forgotten it’s teaching that should be practiced elsewhere, Less preference to 5 times salah and more to delivering Islamic lectures and many more, spending hours in listening to lectures but can’t seem to read the Word of Allah(Quran) for more than 10 minutes. These were some examples/samples that you would found today in the daaiees.. the purpose was not to degrade anyone but we need to work collectively to overcome such mistakes that creates hurdles when we move on in the field of Dawah. We’ll try our best to propagate the message of islam wherever possible. And we’ll emphasis on working on it as a community.
