A special event was organized by Muhammadi Welfare Foundation and the Hyderi Benevolent Hbt Trust to mark the importance of World Mental Health Day. The purpose of this event was to raise awareness about mental health and to promote joint efforts for positive social change.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Shaheena Sher Ali (Minister, Department for Women Development, Government of Sindh), highlighted the importance of mental health and discussed various initiatives to promote it.
Dr. Shehla Gul Shah, Medical Superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital,Tandu Muhammad Khan emphasized in her address the importance of mental health in every aspect of life, noting the urgent need for awareness in society.
The event was attended by renowned psychologists, social leaders, and prominent figures from various fields, including Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Secretary of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority; and the wife of Ghulam Abbas Badami, Patron-in-Chief of the Muhammadi Welfare Foundation trustee of the Hyderi Benevolent Trust; trustee of Bagh-e-Zahra Welfare Trust.
We were honored to have Ms Sukaina Panjwani, EVP of Bank Al-Falah, and Dr. Riffat, a renowned dentist, as distinguished guests in our program entitled'Empowering Minds Through Self-Care and Transforming Emotions for a Brighter Outlook,' expertly facilitated by Ms Afsheen Zahra, Clinical Psychologist.
In a special video message, Mr. Ghulam Abbas Badami expressed that seminars like these, focused on raising awareness for individuals struggling with depression and mental stress, are highly commendable. He conveyed hope that such seminars will play an essential role in enhancing social awareness. He further pledged that similar awareness sessions will continue to be held to help people address mental health challenges.
Conclusion:
The event was hosted by Project Coordinator Ms. Sammar Fatima, and at the closing, the Muhammadi Welfare Foundation and Hyderi Benevolent Trust reiterated their commitment to continue raising mental health awareness and to implement initiatives aimed at fostering positive societal change. Ms. Shama Zahra concluded the event by extending thanks to all the guests.
