Jinnah Barrage Project - PICs Jinnah Barrage is the 1st Diversion Structure on River Indus, near Kalabagh Town. It is 126 miles downstream of Tarbela Dam. The Project

The Barrage was constructed during 2nd World War and commissioned in 1946 to divert water on left side into Thal Canal. Construction of a Subsidiary weir 800 ft downstream of the existing barrage;
2. Extension of downstream guide banks;
3. Construction of spur along right bank upstream of the barrage to improve river approach;
5. Strengthening and raising of guide banks and marginal bunds;
6. Reha

bilitation of abandoned Kalabagh railway bridge;
7. Replacement of gates and hoisting system and its automation;
8. Installation of vibrating wire piezometers; and Rehabilitation and up-gradation of building and infrastructure at the barrage and in Canal Colony.

Heartiest congratulations to all the working staff including engineers and workers who worked hard for successful completion of the project. Thanks to ALLAH that project has been completed without any severe accident.
