Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that mountain areas, including Gilgit-Baltisn and Chitral, are likely to experience a heatwave, with temperature staying 4 to 6 degrees higher than normal from May 21st to May 27.
In "isolated places", there may also be lightning and thunderstorm, says a notification issued on May 20th.
Regional administration and locals have been advised to "remain vigilant and observe precautionary measures".

محکمہ موسمیات کے مطابق 21 تا 27 مئی گلگت بلتستان اور خیبرپختونخوا میں درجہ حرارت 4 سے 6 ڈگری زائد رہےگا۔
محکمہ موسمیات کا کہنا ہے کہ درجہ حرارت بڑھنے سے فلیش فلڈز آنے کے امکانات بڑھ جائیں گے۔ گلگت بلتستان اور چترال کے علاقوں میں برفانی جھیلیں پھٹنے سے سیلاب آسکتے ہیں۔
محکمہ موسمیات نے ضلعی انتظامیہ، مقامی تنظیموں اور مقامی آبادیوں کو محتاط رہنے کی ہدایت کی ہے۔
