Over the past 15 years (since the 2008 financial crisis), the U.S. stock market has generally been in a long-term uptrend fueled by:

• Near-zero interest rates
• Fed stimulus (QE)
• Strong corporate earnings
• Tech-led growth

Whenever the market corrected sharply (e.g., 2011 Euro crisis, 2016 China slowdown, 2018 rate hike fears, 2020 COVID crash, 2022 bear market), it dropped toward the 200W MA — but eventually recovered and moved higher.

Investors who bought during those dips — near the 200W — made significant gains over the following years.

Hence, buying near the 200-week MA has “basically been free money.”
