Did you know? 🤔

At dawn on April 9th 1942, Major General King, of the United States Army was forced to surrender his forces of over 76,000 Filipino, Chinese and American soldiers to the Japanese.

Unprepared for the number of prisoners, the Japanese decided to walk the prisoners 150km to a prison camp in San Fernando. Over 20,000 prisoners died on this march either through starvation, exhaustion or at the hands of the Japanese. The trek became infamous as the 'Bataan Death March'.

While the holiday marks an event which was a victory for the opposing forces, the heroic defence of Bataan by those soldiers was seen as a key event in the war, as it allowed the allies time to prepare for later battles which halted the Japanese progress in the pacific and eventually led to a turn in the fortunes and allied victory.

The Bataan peninsula was eventually retaken by American and Filipino forces on February 8th 1945.

In 1961, April 9th was declared Bataan Day. In 1987, it was renamed officially as 'Araw Ng Kagitingan' (Day of Valor) to pay tribute to those who defended Bataan, Corregidor and Bessang. From 2007, the holiday was designated to be observed on the Monday nearest April 9th, but since 2009 a yearly presidential decree has meant it is observed on April 9th.

Letting anger fuel your life can be self-distructive. If you can't forgive yet, at least do not seek revenge.

Explore things.
Find your passion.
Focus on your goals.
Seek for your purpose.
Look for what makes you happy.
Pray for discernment and clear direction.

Remember that your emotional and mental health is more important than other people's opinion about you. Take good care of yourself and keep going, Braveheart.

The students will learn about the types of bank accounts offered, how to balance a checkbook, money, debit and credit card management, how to complete a loan application, receiving an inheritance, personal insurance basics, how to do your taxes, lessons on local tax assessments, interest rates, simple contracts, contesting an incorrect bill, state and federal laws, and ways to save and invest.

Just a piece of advice. 🧏🏼‍♂️

Once you receive your 13th month Pay or Christmas Bonus. Bayaran mo ang taong nagpautang sayo noong panahong gipit na gipit ka. Yung taong hindi nagdalawang isip na tulungan ka dahil kaibigan ka nya sa hirap man o ginhawa. You promised to pay but you failed and promised again. He/She trusted you and lend his/her hard-earned money for you to survive. It is time for you to do your part.

Save your relationship with the person whom you owed money. Money can be earned anytime, but the trust once broken will leave a permanent mark the rest of your life. Alalahanin mong hindi lang pera ang pinahiram sayo, kundi pati yung tiwala ng tao. 😉

Kung wala ka naman utang, nothing's wrong if you pamper yourself once in a while. But remember to spend a portion of your money wisely. Invest into something your future self will thank you for. Let that money work for you atleast sa loob ng isang taon, may tamang desisyon kang nagawa sa buhay mo.
