Leasing and Finance is a company engaged in providing short to medium term financial loans to Filipino workers and entrepreneurs in Region IV. Laurel Leasing was incorporated in 1998 as a subsidiary of President Jose P. Laurel Rural Bank, Inc where during that time, was the largest rural bank in the province of Batangas. The newly incorporated subsidiary started doing business by serving the needs

of the rural bank’s clients in the agricultural sector. Laurel Leasing provided farmers and entrepreneurs, short term financing of agricultural machinery and transport equipment. In 2003, Laurel Leasing became an independent corporation from President Jose P. The company ventured into Micro financing. Using a model derived from the Grameen Foundation and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Laurel Leasing provided collateral-free loans to small entrepreneurs who needed additional capital for their expanding businesses. These loans were paid in small, frequent and easy amortizations. In 2012 the corporation changed its trade name to Speaker Jose B. Leasing and Finance in commemoration of the 100th birth anniversary of the late Speaker. The company, recognizing financial needs of regular salaried employees, re-established itself by providing payday loans to teachers, barangay employees and regular employees of multinational corporations in and around Region IV.
