The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) expresses its deepest sympathies and profound sorrow on the passing of Ms. Nelia R. Marquez.
Ms. Marquez served as Deputy Administrator of the National Statistics Office (NSO) from 1985 until her retirement, rising from the ranks and bringing her extensive experience in official statistics, demographic and socioeconomic data systems, and national statistical coordination. Her contributions helped strengthen the country’s statistical infrastructure, leaving behind a meaningful legacy in the Philippine Statistical System.
Through her leadership at the NSO, she supported key national census and survey operations, and helped uphold the integrity and reliability of government data used for planning and policy-making.
The PSA honors Ms. Marquez’s life of dedicated public service and recognizes her enduring contributions to the Philippine statistical community.
