I asked a 40 year old semi-retired Engineer,
He jokingly said,
" Gagi pre, tahimik ka lang, mas mataas pa kinikita ko sa Senior Manager naten"
Hindi ko alam kung sinasarcastic nya lang ako,
but as I get to know him better.
As a matter of fact, napaka productive niya pa sa work but later on I realized, he just chose a different path.
β He is still productive pero 8 hours work lang
he doesn't bring any work at home.
β He is still responsive,
but no more messages after work.
β He is still doing work overtime,
pero he is not doing it for his job
but he is building an empire of his own.
Lahat ng ito hindi niya magagawa
if tatanggapin niya ang promotion.
Kaya pala ang laki ng kinikita nya because
π He has been working on his business for 10 years now,
π He has been investing in stocks for 15 years,
π He has a million funds in financing personal loans and emergency loans.
I was amazed by the empire he has built!
5 years later, he officially retired and fully worked on his own
empire.
Yung pinaka tumatak talaga na sinabi nya saken?
Your career is not your everything,
No matter how productive you are, you get the same pay every month.
You do massive efforts but you don't get the credits,
so be productive as always.
It's okay to stay on this job as long as hindi mo pa kaya but never forget to work on your dreams.
Anything outside your 8 hour-work should be spent in building your own empire.
This may not be the perfect advice for everyone,
but I consider it as a perfect advice for me.
I don't hate my job,
I just hate working on someone else's dreams forever.
