𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊, 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒓. The Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPIC) formally turned over completed construction and renovation projects to the Daughters of Mary Mother of the Church Institute’s Mater Ecclesiae Formation Center on April 21, 2026.
Present during the event were Most Rev. Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, DD, Archbishop of Caceres; Rev. Mother Hedelina C. Vitalico, DM, Superior General of the Daughters of Mary Mother of the Church Institute; PAFCPIC personnel led by BGEN Fernando S. Zabat (Ret.); Col. Orlando C. Ramos, GSC (PA), of G7, 9th Infantry Division; LTC Dennis G. Abella, FS (GSC) PA, of the 5th Financial Service Field Office; Atty. Emilio D. Escueta III, Regional Director of the Cooperative Development Authority; and Hon. Mayor Marivic B. Solano, Municipal Mayor of Pili, Camarines Sur.
The completed project includes the construction of an 82-linear-meter, 3.12-meter-high reinforced retaining wall, the building of a new infirmary, and the renovation of the chapel. With a total project cost of PHP 9,372,343.62, the project supports both the spiritual and practical needs of the religious community by providing a safer environment for worship and more localized care for the sisters.
Before the formal turnover, a Holy Mass and Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Archbishop Alarcon, setting a solemn and grateful tone for the occasion. The liturgical gathering underscored the deeper meaning of the project, not merely as a physical development, but as a mission rooted in faith, service, and care for community life.
In her message, Rev. Mother Hedelina C. Vitalico, DM, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests of honor and acknowledged the collective efforts of all stakeholders who made the project possible. Her words reflected the joy of a community receiving not just improved structures, but renewed support for its mission and daily life.
Responding to the institute’s message of appreciation, BGEN Fernando S. Zabat (Ret.) emphasized the values behind the undertaking, saying, “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴; 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴. The program then continued with the unveiling of the marker and the symbolic lighting of the infirmary, followed by its blessing, as well as the blessing of the perimeter fence and chapel. The program concluded with a lively gospel song prepared by the Sisters.
The turnover stands as a testament to what can be achieved when institutions come together in a spirit of unity and purpose. It highlights how partnerships among faith communities, government offices, and civic organizations can create lasting impact where it matters most, in places that nurture both human dignity and spiritual growth.
As the new facilities begin serving the sisters and the wider community, this project reminds us that real progress happens when compassion is put into action, bringing care, strength, and hope to everyone it touches.
