CALAMBA, LAGUNA — Tikom ang bibig at nakaposas ang dalawang fixer matapos masakote sa isang ikinasang entrapment operation ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) Calabarzon at Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Laguna.

Ayon sa report, matagal nang nakakatanggap ng reklamo ang LTO kaugnay sa talamak na fixing activity sa lugar. Dahil dito, nagsumite ng liham ang pamunuan ng LTO Calabarzon sa pangunguna ni LTO Regional Director Elmer J. Decena, sa CIDG upang magsagawa ng masusing operasyon laban sa mga sangkot.

Sa isinagawang entrapment, nag alok ang dalawang fixer ng tulong sa pag rerehistro ng sasakyan kapalit ng karampatang halaga. Sa araw ng transakston ay agad inabot ng mga operitiba ang marked money at matapos tanggapin ito, ay agad silang dinampot ng mga awtoridad.

Sa ilalim ng pinaigting na kampanya kontra korapsyon ng administrasyon ni President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., sa gabay ni Department of Transportation Acting Secretary Atty, Giovanni Z. Lopez at pamumuno ni LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao.

Ayon kay RD Decena:

“Hindi namin kukunsintihin ang anumang uri ng korapsyon sa loob at paligid ng aming tanggapan. Ang fixing ay malinaw na paglabag sa batas at panlilinlang sa publiko. Patuloy kaming makikipagtulungan sa CIDG at iba pang sangay ng gobyerno upang tuluyang mapuksa ang ganitong ilegal na gawain at masiguro ang maayos, mabilis, at tapat na serbisyo para sa bawat mamamayan. Walang puwang ang mga fixer sa kahit ano mang sangay ng pamahalaan.”

Sa huli, muling nagpaalala ang LTO sa publiko na huwag tangkilikin o makipag-ugnayan sa mga fixer dahil magiging sanhi lamang to ng pagkakaloko o di naman kaya ay sakit ng ulo.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has filed 40 administrative cases this first quarter of 2026 under Republic Act No. 10586 (Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013). The incidents leading to these cases occurred in Metro Manila, where the processing was also carried out. This initiative was led by the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) and Field Enforcement Division of the Law Enforcement Service (FED-LES) which issued endorsement letters for implementation.

The cases cover three key provisions of the law: 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol, nine for refusal to submit to mandatory tests, and nineteen for positive methamphetamine results from random drug screenings at bus and jeepney terminals. All involved individuals have received Show Cause Orders, with licenses confiscated and motor vehicles placed under restricted alarm status pending investigation. Hearings are scheduled from 16 to 31 March 2026, commencing at 11:00 A.M.

In a statement, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao emphasized: “These enforcement actions reflect our unwavering commitment to road safety. We will not tolerate any behavior that puts the lives of Filipinos at risk. Through close collaboration between our enforcement units, we are ensuring that compliance with road safety laws is strictly upheld across the country.”

Initial drug screenings were conducted and confirmatory reports will be expected within three weeks.

Ito po ay MALING IMPORMASYON (FAKE NEWS) na kumakalat ngayon na ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) ay nagtaas ng singil sa pagpaparehistro ng mga sasakyan ng halos 100% nang walang paunang abiso, at sinabay pa umano ito sa pagtaas ng presyo ng gasolina.

Hindi po totoo ang ganitong pahayag. Patuloy po ang LTO na nagsisikap na gawing mas abot-kaya ang mga serbisyo nito lalo na sa kasalukuyang krisis pang-ekonomiya na kinakaharap ng ating bansa. Ang mga bayad sa rehistro at iba pang transaksyon ng LTO ay batay sa mga alituntunin at batas na naaprubahan ng gobyerno, at walang biglaan o hindi inanunsyong pagtaas ng mga rate.

Layunin po ng LTO na maghatid ng mahusay at abot-kayang serbisyo sa lahat ng mamamayan. Hinihikayat po namin ang lahat na huwag magkalat o maniwala agad sa mga hindi napapatunayang balita. Para sa tumpak at opisyal na impormasyon tungkol sa mga bayarin at serbisyo ng LTO, mangyaring bisitahin lamang ang aming opisyal na website, mga social media page, o mga awtorisadong LTO district office at extension centers sa inyong lugar.
