Last Thursday of the Year 2021!!🥰

It's been almost nine months since I left my previous company. I told myself to start working remotely because of the pandemic. I took a big leap and decided to try a new adventure. I enrolled in the academy of bookkeepers and accountants. I met new friends and colleagues with the same path. Learned many things like working on accounting software, creating proposals, discovery calls, optimization of my profile.

At first, it's not that easy. I need a lot of courage to go on. I experienced a lot of rejections and client ghosting. But, I did not give up. There is a saying that "Trust yourself and believe, whatever happens, don't give up".

And today, as I looked back on my journey. I am amused by what I accomplished. I am not that super successful yet. But, I accomplished something that I am proud of.

Below are the lists of my accomplishment and self-realization for the year. A perks in working remotely. 🥰

👉Save money and track my savings
👉Have a flexible schedule
👉More time with my family and loved ones
👉Own my day & week
👉Expand my circle of friends
👉Reclaim my commuting time to zero
👉Design my little workspace at home

In the last post, I mentioned all possible information you should know about accounts receivables.

Now, we will discuss some key terms used in Accounts receivable. Here we will go over the definition of each term. Let's begin.

✅Bad Debts - It is the uncollectible receivable or the outstanding balances owed that are no longer deemed recoverable.

✅A/R Turn-over ratio - is a simple financial calculation that shows you how fast your customers are at paying their bills.

✅A/R Aging Schedule - A periodic report that shows the analysis of customer balances by the length of time they have been unpaid.

✅Allowance Method - A method of accounting for bad debts that involves estimating uncollectible accounts at the end of each period.

✅Average Collection Period - The average amount of time that a receivable is outstanding; calculated by dividing 365 days by the accounts receivables turnover ratio.

✅Direct Write-Off Method - A method of accounting for bad debts that involve expensing accounts at the time they are determined to be uncollectible.

✅Promissory Note - A written promise to pay a specified amount of money on demand or at a definite time.

✅Dishonored Notes - A note that is not paid in full at maturity.

Accounts receivable is the counterpart of Accounts Payable.

Accounts payable is the money a company owes its vendors, while accounts receivable is the money that is owed to the company, typically by customers.

What are the things that we should know about Accounts Receivables?

👉 It is the proceeds or payment which the company will receive from its customers who have purchased its goods & services.

👉 It is considered an asset, as it represents money coming into the company.

👉 Accounts receivables are listed on the balance sheet as a current asset.
👉 Accounts receivable are considered asset account. This is different from a revenue account. Once payment has been made on an asset account, it converts into revenue.

👉 It is typically executed by generating an invoice and either mailing or electronically delivering it to the customer.

👉 Receivables must be paid within an established time frame, called credit terms or payment terms.
