SPMUDA is duly recognized and accredited by various national government agencies and local government units as a partner in the implementation of their various thrusts and programs. We are a recognized partner of the Philippine government in the pursuit of its peace program with the communist insurgents and the various Muslim rebel groups, through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP). We are dedicated to the attainment of peace and development and the protection and respect of human rights in war-torn Mindanao and other insurgency affected areas, and the promotion of peace and understanding among friendly nations around the world. SPMUDA is one of the largest non-profit, non-sectarian, multi-faith, multi-sector grassroots organizations duly registered and operating under the laws of the Philippines with chapters in almost all regions, provinces, towns and cities in Mindanao and other parts of the country, as well as among Filipino communities abroad. Adding another feather to its cap Tacloban City once again clinched a National Award. Declared this time as the Best Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Service Awards, it bested Quezon City for the distinction given out as part of the PNP’s 111th Anniversary. Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez personally received the award at Camp Crame last August 6, 2012.

According to the Police Community Relations (PCR) of the PNP Regional Office, news of the City winning under the LGU Category was confirmed last August 3 through a memo from its national headquarters.

Last June 22, 2012 the City was nominated by the Tacloban City Police Office to the awards citing its contributions in the local police force’s administrative and operational accomplishments. The nomination was validated and evaluated last July 12 by a team from the National Headquarters of the PNP. Another winner in the Region under the Local Government Agency Category is the Borongan PENRO.

Today, July 30, the Office of the Youth Director for Operations, SPMUDA Youth International, Tacloban City, had done reading the warning from the Execuive President of the whole SPMUDA Internatonal, HRH Dr. Datu Camad Mangotara Ali relative to the release of 2 fake SPMUDA certificates.

According to the said warning, he pointed out that one expelled officer from SPMUDA Lanao del Sur chapter who is presently working in another questionable organization, but still using the name of SPMUDA in dealing their illegal transactions, which was prejudicial to the organization's prestige & reputation. However, his personal identification shall remain strictly confidential while the case is ongoing. Recently, the organization planed to file a case against the respondent.

Despite of hectic schedules in his classes this afternoon, SPMUDA Youth International Operations Director Cecilio Avorque III together with the Grade 6 pupils of Tolosa Central School (Daniel Z. Romualdez Memorial ES) helped each other in carrying the desks & chairs to transfer temporarily to the school's Conference Building Wednesday, July 18, 2012, as the renovation of some slightly-damaged classrooms in the school continues.
