Today, I fulfilled one of the most emotional duties of my calling as a Financial Advisor at Sun Life.
It was never easy to process my very first death claim, especially when it involved someone so close to my heart — my dear client, my kind friend, and a loving mother, Tita Girlie, who passed away last month at the young age of 39 due to heart disease. Her youngest daughter is my godchild, which made this moment even more personal and emotional for me.
Tita Girlie was not just a client. She was a woman full of love — for her husband, and most especially for her five children. Today, I was able to deliver her family the life insurance benefit she prepared for them — ₱700,000, along with the investment fund value from her VUL plan.
She applied for this plan nearly three years ago. No one expected that her time would come this soon. But because of her wise and selfless decision, her love continues to provide — even in her absence.
This moment is a powerful reminder: we can never predict life, but we can prepare for it.
To Tita Girlie, thank you for entrusting me with your family's future. I know you’re watching over them from heaven with the same care and love you've always shown. You are deeply missed, but your love lives on through the legacy you left behind.
Let this be a gentle nudge to those who still have the chance to prepare — not just for ourselves, but for the people we love the most. 💛
