Let's face it. We all share some responsibility at the problem we're having with License Plate issues. To be fair, we're all after the betterment for everyone. And everyone have the right to share their own opinion and suggestions to find a solution.

One's shortcomings does not give you a free pass to break the rules. And the others valid grief at the system shouldn't be ignored and punished more than it has been.

One of the question I've asked myself regarding these kind of issues about License Plates is "Why not allow owners to keep their existing issued plates on hand when replacing vehicles? Instead of letting it go with the vehicles we're getting rid of. Especially the Vanity Plates we've paid top cash. Would you buy a car with plates saying IM STPD2 ? Well, maybe once you get caught driving it on Mondays. (pun intended)

If you look around motor vehicle dealerships (new or used) even at Junkyards, you'll find a good amount of license plates sitting, awaiting to be reinstated to new owners or die with the vehicle over time. Those License plates we've once own and use could have eased the problem of shortages and long wait for a new one when registering a new or replacement vehicle.

We all know License Plates issued are linked to owner and vehicle info. Removing those info when getting rid of a vehicle and/or transferring those info. to newly acquired vehicles at registration shouldn't be a problem. This is being practiced in other countries, why can't we?
