The stronger US dollar today is likely to continue in the short term amid renewed sentiment ahead of Fed rate hikes. The strengthening of the US dollar will be further reinforced if the US Durable Goods Order data and FOMC Quarles member speeches are released optimistic.

GBPUSD gained about 70 pips in early trading today (17/05/2018), reaching its highest daily high around 1.3550. Positive sentiments for the pound came from a story written by The Telegraph that says the British Parliament is willing in the EU customs union to exceed 2021.

Today's USD Trading Opportunity.

Despite US retail sales Tuesday data released lower than expected, but the dollar still shows toughness helped by the rise in US Treasury yields. The 10-year Treasury 10-year yield rebounded back above 3% Tuesday, reaching its highest level since 2011.
The United States will also release data on oil reserves this evening at 21:30 pm, estimates of -1.1M and previous data of -2.2M. previously API has reported the addition of US oil reserves of 4.854M.
