CLARK, PAMPANGA TO CALAMBA, LAGUNA IN UNDER 2 HOURS THROUGH 160-KM/H NORTH-SOUTH COMMUTER RAILWAY
Travel between Central Luzon and Southern Luzon is expected to become significantly faster once the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) becomes fully operational.
The railway project aims to connect Clark, Pampanga, and Calamba, Laguna, through Metro Manila, with an estimated end-to-end travel time of less than two hours.
Designed for trains capable of operating at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour, the NSCR is set to become one of the country’s fastest commuter railway systems.
The approximately 147-kilometer railway network will provide improved connections between major residential, commercial, and employment centers across Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, and Laguna.
The project is also expected to benefit passengers traveling to and from Clark International Airport, providing an additional transportation option for travelers from different parts of Luzon.
Once completed, the NSCR could help reduce road congestion, shorten commuting times, improve regional mobility, and encourage economic activity along its railway corridor.
The development forms part of the Philippines’ broader efforts to modernize public transportation and establish a more efficient railway network connecting key urban and economic centers.
The projected travel time and operating speeds remain dependent on the completion, testing, and full operation of the railway system.
