Q: “I have a 10-year VUL plan and 5 years na ako nagbabayad. Hindi ako nagmomonitor ng fund value pero naisipan ko lang magcheck nun isang araw. Sadly, mas mababa ang fund value kesa sa kabuuang binayad ko. Lugi pa ako My friend told me na dapat sa MP2 ko na lang nilagay ang pera ko, bka mas tumubo pa… “

A: Unang una, alalahanin mo ang reason kung bakit ka kumuha ng VUL. It should be for protection first (life insurance) than earning thru investment part. Ang fund value or investment part ng VUL ay dapat ituring na “long term savings,” meaning funds na pde mo mapakinabangan in long term (more than 10 yrs). Kung ang ating goal ay mapalago ang ating savings, VUL is not the right financial instrument. After 5 yrs of contribution, hindi pa po talaga magpapantay ang ating total deposits to fund value dahil may insurance charges po tyo binabayaran na usually mataas for the first 3 yrs ng insurance policy. Ito po ang binayad natin kapalit ng ating peace of mind na if ever something happens to us, ay meron matatanggap ang ating family from the insurance company. MP2 is a great financial instrument for us to grow our savings, while VUL is a great tool for life insurance with long term savings.

P.S. Ang aking sagot ay based lamang po sa aking mga natutunan. If you have additional comments na helpful sa question, feel free to comment below para makahelp tayo sa mga maraming confusion about insurance products. Godbless!

Figuring out how to manage your finances as a couple? Here are 3 ways on how to effectively handle your finances as a couple.

Way #1: Come up with a saving plan.
Take a seat together, discuss your financial goals, and decide on the amount you're going to allocate for savings. You also have to decide whether you will have 1 joint savings account or you will keep your bank accounts separate, but open for checking for accountability purposes. There’s no right or wrong here, but you have to figure out as a couple what suits the both of you.

Way #2: Discuss Big-Ticket Expenses
Have open conversations about big ticket items such as planning to have kids, purchasing a family car, buying a property, etc. This step helps avoid conflicts and ensures you're on the same page about your financial priorities.

Way #3: Decide on an Investment Plan
Decide together on the type of investments that align with your risk tolerance and financial objectives. Investing can accelerate your wealth-building journey.

In today's fast-paced world, we often hear that we need to work really hard and constantly push ourselves to get the kind of life we want. It's like we're told that success and a good life only come from non-stop grinding and hustling. But there's another way to think about it, and it comes from the teachings in the Bible.

The Bible says that if we want to have all our needs, we need to seek God first. Seeking God first might mean we should make time to know Him and His purpose for our lives. It's like taking a break from always chasing after money and things, and spending time with Him.

Even if you ask the wealthiest people in the world, but there's no God in their life, they would say that they feel empty. That's because there's a void that only God can fill. And He is more than willing to fill us with His love and blessings if we seek Him first.

Matthew 6:33 NLT:
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
