As you may already know, we announced last Wednesday the exciting news of our acquisition of MediCard Philippines.

MediCard, with its nearly 40 years of experience, was built by the Montoya Family into the strong HMO company that it is today. A powerhouse in the healthcare industry, with its huge network of more than a thousand clinics, over 50 thousand medical practitioners, and almost a million customers, it is well-positioned to become an even bigger player in its category.

Across the AIA Group, we have made various investments in the health and wellness space, specifically Amplify Health and Blue Cross in Hong Kong, proof of our commitment to make health insurance and healthcare more accessible across Asia. The acquisition of MediCard shows Group’s commitment to support the business in the Philippines, and will accelerate our health and wellness strategy locally, making health insurance and healthcare more accessible, affordable, and effective for more Filipinos.
