!! ️!! ️!! ️Republic Act No. 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and according to the regulations of LTO and LTFRB, an LTO checkpoint SHOULD HAVE A SIGNAGE OR WARNING SIGN to give warning to motorists.

Guidelines for LTO Checkpoint:

Must have clear signage
According to LTO rules, there should be a signboard saying "LTO CHECKPOINT AHEAD" before the actual checkpoint.

This is for transparency and to prevent abuse.
Dapat may identification ang enforcers

LTO personnel must be in uniform and with clear ID or nameplate.

If they have police with them, they should also be in uniform.
Dapat may mission order
Enforcers should carry and present Mission Order (MO) from LTO.

MO contains the place, time, and purpose of the checkpoint.
You can't just wash a car
The LTO has the power to inspect the license, registration, and condition of the vehicle, but they cannot be forced to open the trunk or interior of the vehicle without a court order or probable cause.

If the LTO Checkpoint has no signage:

You may complain to LTO main office or Civil Service Commission (CSC) if there is abuse.
You can ask for a Mission Order to make sure it's legit.
If not legitimate or with abuse, call the LTO hotline 1-342-586 or file a complaint at 8888 Citizen’s Complaint Center.
