A New Partnership for Greater Protection 🤝💙

This afternoon, Move Up Community Savings and Credit Cooperative (MUCSCC) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with 1CISP – Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines as our official cooperative insurance provider.

This partnership marks another important milestone in our commitment to provide greater protection, security, and peace of mind to our cooperative members.

Together, we move forward in building a stronger cooperative—where members are not only empowered financially but also protected like family. 💙

BASAHIN‼️
Cooperative and Church are partners in purpose, but they are NOT the same entity.

Different structures. Different governance. One shared vision—to serve people with integrity and excellence.

Each committee plays a vital role in ensuring transparency, accountability, education, fair governance, and unity. When every committee fulfills its mandate with integrity, the cooperative becomes stronger, more sustainable, and truly member-centered.

Strong Committees. Strong Cooperative. Strong Community.
Together, we move forward through service, integrity, and cooperation. 💚🤝

Who approves cooperative policies?

A common misconception is that every cooperative policy must first be approved by the General Assembly. In reality, the Board of Directors has the authority to formulate, approve, and implement operational and management policies, provided they are consistent with the Philippine Cooperative Code (RA 9520), the cooperative's Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws, and applicable CDA regulations.

The General Assembly's approval is required only for matters specifically reserved to it, such as the Strategic and Development Plan, election and removal of elected officers, and amendments to the Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws.

Good governance begins with understanding our roles and responsibilities. When everyone follows the proper process, we build a stronger, more transparent, and more accountable cooperative.

Move Up Community Savings and Credit Cooperative was honored to participate in the Cooperative Policy Development Training held on July 16–17, 2026 at the Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Quezon City.

For a new and growing cooperative like ours, this training was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our governance and ensure that our policies are aligned with the standards of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and industry best practices.

Over the two-day training, we gained practical knowledge on developing and enhancing essential cooperative policies, including:

✅Financial Management Policies
✅Credit Policy
✅Gender and Development (GAD) Mainstreaming
✅DOSRI (Directors, Officers, Staff and Related Interests) Policy
✅CASA and Internal Control Policies
✅Governance and Risk Management

And many other policies that are vital to the sustainable growth of a cooperative.

One of the highlights of this training was the opportunity to represent the Credit Cooperatives during the presentation of our workshop output. It was both a challenging and rewarding experience that allowed us to share our ideas, learn from fellow cooperatives, and contribute to meaningful discussions on policy development.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), QC-SBCDPO, the organizers, resource speakers, and partner organizations for conducting this meaningful and well-organized training. The knowledge and insights we gained will help us continue building a cooperative that is transparent, accountable, resilient, and responsive to the needs of our members.

Together, we move forward with stronger policies, better governance, and a shared commitment to serving our members with excellence.

Empowered Together, Move Up!☝️💕
