Specific Cancer Booster benefit gives an additional 50% of the Face Amount to the insured in the case of diagnosis of cancer-related illness.

✅3. HOSPITALIZATION BENEFIT

In case of diagnosis from a critical illness, you can claim 0.125% of the Face Amount for Hospital Income Benefit (HIB). This is a cash benefit which will be multiplied by the number of days you’ve been confined. You also get a fixed amount of Post Hospitalization Benefit to be used for follow up check-ups.

✅ 4. HOME RECOVERY BENEFIT

This is an additional fund that you can claim upon discharge which is equivalent to 50% of HIB multiplied also by the number of days you’ve been confined.
Worst case scenario - where the insured becomes terminally ill and has a life expectancy of 6 months or less, a Palliative Care Benefit of 10% of the Face Amount will be given additionally to the insured. It is somehow a way of relieving the pain and stress caused by the illness.

✅ 5. LIFE INSURANCE COVERAGE

It also provides a guaranteed life insurance coverage until age 100 in case no major critical illness claim has been made from the plan. It will be equivalent to the original face amount plus cash benefits, less minor critical illness claims if there’s any.

For 8 consecutive years starting at age 65, you have the option to get 5% of the original Face Amount in advance which serves as your guaranteed steady income during retirement.
Aside from that, Special Paid Up Bonuses* at the end of premium paying period and Annual Dividend earnings* are available for withdrawal anytime. You also have the option to just leave it with Sun Life to accumulate.

✅ 7. LIMITED PAYING PERIOD

Public Service Advisory

📣I handed over a million pesos to my friend’s mom last week.

💫My first insurance claim just got approved. I did not expect it to happen too soon in my career and for it to be for a dear friend(shooketh ako for months, I couldn’t believe it). But this is exactly the reason why one should get insured: unexpected circumstances. My friend was merely 21 years old when she was reunited with our Lord. But even at a young age, she understood the value of being insured.

✨The million pesos will not bring my friend, a daughter, a sister back nor will it ever be a sufficient exchange for her life—a life that was devoted to serving people and God. Today, our country commemorates the contribution of Manuel Luis Quezon who we regard as "Ama ng Wikang Pambansa."

Did you know that Manuel L. Quezon was a Sun Life client? In the middle of the responsibilities he had for our nation, he was a husband and a father who made sure that his family was taken care of no matter what happened.

When he died after WW2, his wife, Aurora, was left to raise their family on her own, and she had no proof of her husband’s insurance as the war destroyed everything. In that time, Sun Life paid claims in the absence of documents in order to help Filipinos move forward.
