Passionist Benefactors Society The Passionist Benefactors Society was establish to find financial resources that would sustain our growing community. Rev. Fr. Harold Reusch, C.P. Bro. Evan B.

We provide tangible expression of thoughtfulness to our loved ones through our Mass Cards and Annual Living Cards for all occasions. The Passionist Benefactors Society in the Philippines was established in 1980 to find financial resources that will sustain the growing community. the Regional Superior, assigned the soft spoken but very hard working Bro. Louie Bouchard, C.P., to ask of finding a reg

ular source of income. Small, but extremely dedicated, he immediately thought of the people who offered masses for their loved ones for different occasions. “Why not a tangible expression of thoughtfulness like cards, prayer cards.” Bro. Louie was successful in establishing contacts with friends and supporters from the printing industry which provided him the necessary supplies and materials. On the marketing side, he was able to tap the right people who were more than willing to help him as Promoters. Many of them are still with us until now as avid Promoters of the Passionist Mass Cards. Louie was untiringly assisted by Sr. Pastora Salvador, and extern Carmelite nun. Their tandem brought in unmatched success both in their respective religious vocations as well as in terms of sales of Mass cards. Today, there are more than two hundred individuals and religious who are supporting, patronizing and selling our Mass Cards. After many years of active mission work, Bro. Louie’s health deteriourated and had to turn over the operation to Fr. William Pondo, C.P., The other directors who followed were Fr. Glen Maga, C.P., Bro. Bob McKenna, C.P., Fr. Emmanuel Gellez, C.P. Its present director is Fr. Esmade, C.P.

This month of April, as we remember the 30th Death Anniversary of Bishop Reginald Arliss,C.P., let us also honor the rest Passionist Fathers and Brothers who have gone before us... men whose lives were quietly poured out in love, mission, and sacrifice.

Their stories are different, yet bound by one Passion—the love of Christ Crucified, lived out in service to others, especially the poor, the forgotten, and the suffering.

As we remember them, may we not only speak their names but continue their mission. Their lives remind us: love that is given away is never lost—it becomes a legacy.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Today, April 25, we celebrate the Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist 📖🕊️

Though his Gospel is the shortest, it moves with energy and urgency—inviting us to encounter the life of Jesus in a vivid and powerful way.

Beautiful points to reflect on today:

🦁 The Winged Lion

St. Mark is symbolized by a lion, representing courage and the royal dignity of Christ. His Gospel begins with the voice crying out in the wilderness, echoing the roar of a lion and pointing to Jesus as the Lion of Judah.

🤝 Companion of St. Peter

Tradition tells us that Mark served as Peter’s interpreter. His Gospel reflects Peter’s firsthand witness and preaching about Christ.

🌍 Founder of the Church in Alexandria

Mark is believed to have established the Church in Alexandria, one of the most important centers of early Christianity.

🌱 A Journey of Growth

Mark’s story reminds us that holiness is a journey. Though he once struggled and stepped away from mission work, he later became a trusted and “useful” companion. Growth, reconciliation, and perseverance are part of every calling.

May St. Mark inspire us to live the Gospel with courage, humility, and a heart always ready to grow in faith.

Today we honor the lives and legacy of two devoted Passionist missionaries:

Father Leonard Amrhein, C.P. and Father Lawrence Mullin C.P.

Fr. Amrhein, born in 1911, dedicated his priesthood to serving amidst the hardships of war-torn China and later in the mission fields of the Philippines. From his internment during the Japanese occupation to his years as a parish priest in the mountains of Hunan, and later in Mindanao, he lived a life of perseverance, compassion, and deep faith—building communities through prayer and devotion.

Fr. Mullin, born Hubert Mullin in 1916, also answered the call to mission with courage and commitment. After his ordination in 1945, he was sent to China where he served closely with Bishop Cuthbert O’Gara. During the turbulent years of political upheaval, he endured house arrest and eventual expulsion. Yet his missionary spirit remained strong, leading him to continue his ministry in the Philippines—serving as a parish priest in Norala, Milbuk, Tupi, and Polomolok, and later as a retreat master guiding many in their spiritual journeys.

Across continents and through times of uncertainty, both missionaries embodied the Passionist charism—proclaiming faith through suffering, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the people they served.

May their lives continue to inspire us to serve with the same courage and love. ✝️

Today we remember and honor the life of The Very Rev. Cyprian Regan, C.P., Vicar General of the Diocese of Marbel, who passed away on March 27, 1973, at the age of 45 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Providence County, Rhode Island, Fr. Cyprian answered God’s call with a generous heart. From his ordination at St. Michael’s Monastery in 1954, to his missionary journey from the United States to the Philippines, he faithfully served the Church with humility, dedication, and love. His years of ministry in Marbel became a testament to his deep commitment to the people he shepherded.

Though his life was brief, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he guided, inspired, and served. His story reminds us that a life offered fully to God—no matter how long—is never wasted.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his example continue to lead us closer to Christ. 🙏

Today we celebrate the Annunciation of the Lord—the moment when Mary said yes to God’s plan and Christ was conceived in her womb.

In her quiet surrender, heaven touched earth. May her faithful yes inspire us to trust, to listen, and to open our hearts to God’s will, even when the path is unclear. 💙

Let us pray 🙏

Lord, like Mary, teach me to trust in Your word.

Give me the courage to say yes even when I do not understand.

Let Your will be done in my life, and fill my heart with Your grace.

Amen.
