𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗: Tingog Party-list Representative and Chairperson of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, Congressman Jude A. Acidre reminded the graduates that unplanned paths can often lead to one’s true purpose.

“Sometimes, what feels like a detour is actually the beginning of a deeper calling. Sometimes, the road you never planned to take reveals the person you are called to become,” Acidre said.

Acidre also emphasized that service gives value to success.

“The size of your dreams can determine the size of your success. But the depth of your service will determine the meaning of that success,” he added.

The said ceremony concluded Leyte Normal University’s 84th Commencement Exercises and conferred degrees upon 368 graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

Gospel Reflection
Matthew 6:7-15

“Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” These words bring prayer back to its deepest source: trust. Jesus teaches us that prayer begins in relationship. We come before God as children before a loving Father, carrying our needs, our hopes, our wounds, our gratitude, and even the things our hearts struggle to name.

Calling God “Father” offers deep comfort and assurance. It reminds us that we are His beloved children, never forgotten or alone. In Him we find refuge and peace, knowing that our lives are in His hands and that every prayer comes from a heart already known, cherished, and cared for.

The Father knows our hunger before we ask for bread. He knows our weakness before we ask for strength. He knows the weight we carry before we find the words.

The Lord’s Prayer teaches us the shape of a child’s heart. We begin with reverence: “hallowed be thy name.” We ask for His kingdom, His will, His daily bread, His mercy, and His protection. In this prayer, Jesus brings together heaven and earth, worship and need, forgiveness and freedom. Every line draws us closer to the Father and forms us to live as His children.

And because we are children of the same Father, prayer also teaches us how to treat one another. We ask for forgiveness, and we learn to give forgiveness. We receive mercy, and we become people of mercy. The prayer that begins in the Father’s heart continues in our homes, our words, our choices, and our relationships.

Prayer
Father, teach me to pray with the confidence of a child who knows that he is loved. Give me a heart that trusts Your care, receives Your mercy, and shares Your forgiveness freely. Shape my life according to Your will, and let every prayer bring me closer to You. Amen.
