Nobody announces it. Nobody posts, "Kamusta, I have officially stopped taking my maintenance meds to save ₱1,800 a month."

Tapos dalawa. Tapos, "Okay naman naman, wala naman akong nararamdaman."

At technically, tama. Wala kang nararamdaman. High blood is called the silent killer for a reason. Hindi ka nagko-collapse sa aisle ng grocery. Hindi ka biglang nahihimatay sa traffic. Unti-unti lang. Tahimik.

Look at the numbers from the PSA. For years, out-of-pocket spending made up more than half of our total health expenses.

Ang blood work? Pwede pang hintayin. Pwede pang i-skip. Walang nag-aalarm. Walang nagtatanong.

And here is the part na pinaka-mahilig nating i-ignore. Ang isang annual checkup, maybe ₱2,500 to ₱4,000.

We just quietly rearrange our priorities every single month. At ang laging mababa sa listahan? Yung sarili natin. Yung checkup na "pwede naman bukas." Yung gamot na "may natitira pa naman."

And maybe that is the quietest trade-off ng middle class. Hindi natin ibinebenta ang bahay. Hindi natin ibinebenta ang kotse. We just quietly stop checking if the engine still runs.

So the question is not, "Kaya pa ba natin ang checkup?" The question is, "Gaano na karaming 'next month na' ang naging 'too late na'?"

Things you should’ve done in 2020:

🏠 Locked in a 5.5% housing loan. Rates were crawling on the floor. Today, you’re paying 8-9% and your monthly amortization feels like a second rent.

🐕 Bought $DOGE when it was fractions of a cent. Your daily milk tea and coffee budget would have turned into a condo in BGC by now. But you didn't. You bought more milk tea.

📱 Started a TikTok account. You were stuck in your bedroom during the lockdown anyway. You could have just filmed your dog or cooked pandesal. You’d have brand deals today.

📉 Bought the PSEi crash in March 2020. Jollibee, SM, and Ayala were literally on sale. You listened to your relatives who said "it's going to zero" instead of buying the dip.

💻 Joined a fintech startup in BGC. They were hiring anyone with a pulse and a laptop. You’d be a VP with stock options and a dedicated parking slot right now.

Things you SHOULD be doing right now for 2026:

📈 Buy high-beta AI stocks. Stop waiting for the "perfect time" or for your cousin who reads one investing book to give you advice. Open your brokerage app tonight.

🪙 DCA into altcoins. Don't bet your entire 13th-month pay. Just set up a weekly auto-buy for ₱1,000. Forget the password. Trust the cycle.

🧠 Start an X (Twitter) account. Rant about EDSA traffic, the BIR, or inflation. Build an audience. People pay good money for attention.

💪 Take peptides and get shredded. Hit the gym 5x a week. Not for the beach, but so you can confidently dodge the "When are you getting married?" question from your Titas this Noche Buena.

🧹 Apply as a janitor at Nvidia or a data center in Clark. You don’t need to be a software engineer. You don't need a CS degree. Just be in the building. You’ll absorb the future while you mop the floors.

Your 2020 self was commenting "Sana all" on posts exactly like this.
Your 2026 self needs to actually execute. Stop watching other people win.

PS: This isn't financial advice. If you're looking for someone to blame for your portfolio, look in the mirror.

PPS: If you missed ALL of the 2020 list, drop a 🤡 in the comments. No judgment. We’re all just trying to catch the next wave.

"Please return your work laptop to IT on your last day."
Nobody likes that email.
But we accept it because the company issued it.
Our corporate HMO works exactly the same way.
It is a fantastic company-provided tool.
It covers our Annual Physical Examinations and outpatient consultations perfectly.
But it is tied to our employment contract.
When we change jobs, we hand the coverage back like the laptop.

I used to think my corporate health card was mine to keep.
Then a friend switched to freelancing and lost her coverage.

This is why we secure our own personal health protection.
It is the laptop we buy for ourselves.
It stays in our backpack when we change desks.
And nobody from IT can ask for it back.

What is the best work perk you wish you could keep forever?

We treat new AI health apps like they just graduated from medical school.
They didn't.
They are very confident parrots reading forums in a server farm.
I asked one about my weird knee pain.
It suggested a rare tropical disease.
I had slept on it wrong.

But nobody tells us this: some of these apps ARE regulated as medical devices.
Others are not.
And we cannot tell the difference from an app store screenshot.
So we need three filters before we trust one with our family.

First.
Who built it?
If the "About" page lists only software engineers, close it.
We want a medical board, not a hoodie.
This is not a rule.
This is a heuristic.
A good one.

Second.
The privacy policy.
We all click "Agree" to get to the good stuff.
But if an app knows our resting heart rate, ask: who else knows it?
Some health apps fall under breach notification rules.
Many do not.
The only way to find out is to read the fine print.
Nobody wants to read the fine print.
Read the fine print.

Third.
Look for a disclaimer.
"Consult a healthcare professional."
Here's the uncomfortable part: many AI companies have quietly removed these.
So if we see one, that's a small green flag.
If we don't, that's a red one.

AI is a brilliant research assistant.
It is a terrible physician.
Keep them in their lanes.

What is the most absurd thing a health AI has ever told you?

✨ A small milestone, but a very meaningful one. ✨

Saludo to Company ### for choosing to provide HMO coverage for their 34 employees. 💚

Taking care of employees goes beyond salaries and incentives. Providing access to healthcare is also a way of saying, “We value you, your health, and your well-being.”

And I’m especially grateful because this is my very first client in my HMO career. 🥹

Thank you for the opportunity, confidence, and trust you have given me. I’m truly grateful to be part of this journey and to help make healthcare protection more accessible to your team.

Thank You, Lord, for this blessing and for opening this door. 🙏🏻

To business owners, HR teams, and company leaders—if you're also looking into HMO coverage for your employees, let’s talk.

Did you know that companies can provide HMO benefits not only for their employees, but depending on the plan, may also have options for dependents and family members?

Whether you have a small team or a growing organization, there may be an HMO arrangement that can fit your company’s needs and budget.

📩 If you’re considering HMO coverage for your team, feel free to message me. I’d be happy to walk you through the available options.

Here’s to more companies choosing to take care of the people who take care of their business. 💚

29/09/2026

One of my colleagues earns ₱32,000 a month and saves ₱20,000 of it.

He doesn't go out during the week. Almost never orders GrabFood. Doesn't hit the carinderia with the group for lunch. He brings baon every single day — the same reusable container, rice, one ulam, sometimes just itlog at toyo.

His officemates started teasing him. "Kapatid, you're wasting your best years." "Sayang naman yung sahod if you don't enjoy it." "Hindi ka ba naiinis, every day packed lunch ka na lang?"

He always just smiled and kept eating.

Until one night, during a team dinner, one of them leaned back in his chair and said:

"Bro, when you're 50, you'll look back and realize everything you missed out on. All those inuman you skipped. All those trips. All those weekends you chose to stay home. What was it all for?"

My colleague set his spoon down. Wiped his mouth. And asked one question that silenced the entire table:

"And how much do you save each month?"

His friend paused. Shifted in his seat.

"Hindi naman marami. But I also don't want to live my life counting every peso. I want to enjoy the moment."

"I don't want to count every peso either," my colleague said quietly. "That's exactly why I save now. So I never have to."

"But what's the point of having money if you never do anything with it?"

My colleague looked at him.

"And what's the point of enjoying every single payday if one medical emergency, one layoff, one typhoon damages your home, and you have absolutely nothing?"

The table went quiet.

His friend got a little defensive.
"Not everything is about saving, pare. I want to travel. I want to go out. I want to enjoy life while I'm still young and my knees still work."

"I want those things too," my colleague said. "I just don't want to spend everything I earn proving that I'm having fun."

Another friend jumped in.
"But ₱20,000 out of ₱32,000? That's more than half. That's too much."

My colleague turned to him.

"Too much for what?"
"For… living like that. Every day baon. No outings. No spontaneity."

"And who decided how much I need to spend to be considered 'living'?"

No one answered. The only sound was the ice clinking in someone's glass.

Then his friend tried one last time.
"Someday you'll have all that money. But you'll look back and regret not having lived more. Not having said yes more."

My colleague was quiet for a long time. He looked down at his plate. Then he looked up.

"And maybe someday you'll look back and regret spending everything you had, thinking you'd always have time to save later."

No one spoke.

They finished dinner. But the conversation was never the same again.

And honestly? I've been thinking about it ever since.
Because I see this exact tension everywhere. In our office. In my circle. In myself.

When we chose to save aggressively for our daughter's schooling and our son's future instead of upgrading our car or booking a vacation every quarter, people said, "You only live once."

And maybe they're right. You do only live once.

But you also only build once. You only protect once. You only get one chance to make sure that when the unexpected hits — the hospital bill, the layoff, the typhoon, the global crisis — your family doesn't have to post a fundraising link on Facebook and hope for the best.

I don't save ₱20,000 out of every paycheck. But I understand the man with the packed lunch.

He's not missing out on life.

He's building the kind of life where he never has to beg for a second chance.

What about you? Do you save? Do you spend? Have you found the balance? I'd genuinely love to hear how you think about it. 👇

And if this hit close to home, share it. Someone in your feed needs to hear this tonight. 🤍

What if one diagnosis costs you more than your lifetime savings?

I heard this story from my colleague about someone who had spent more than 20 years building her savings.
Every bonus went to investments.
Every extra peso was saved for retirement.
She thought she was financially ready until she was diagnosed with cancer.

Within months, a big portion of what she had worked so hard for went to hospital bills, treatments, and medicines.

But the truth is, one critical illness can change everything. Hindi lang health ang naaapektuhan. Pati income, retirement plans, at future ng pamilya. Kaya habang pinapalago natin ang ating ipon, siguraduhin din nating may planong poprotekta rito. Because the goal isn't just to build wealth, it's to make sure one unexpected illness doesn't take it all away. ❤️

Would be happy to discuss your options how you can your income and savings!

Driven. Powered by purpose. Fueled by action. 🚗✨

What a beautiful theme for our Prulife Branch Assembly (BA)!

To be honest, this was my first face-to-face BA again after giving birth. I didn't realize how much I missed being surrounded by like-minded people, supportive teammates, and leaders who remind you why you started in the first place.

So allow me to make “hugot” and reflect on what the theme was for me and what were my takeaway. ⬇️

Life isn't a race where everyone is meant to drive at the same speed.

Some are in full acceleration, chasing big dreams and milestones. Some are cruising steadily, choosing consistency over speed. And some are at a pit stop either refueling, fixing what's broken, changing tires, or simply catching their breath before getting back on the road.

The beautiful thing is... none of those seasons mean you're losing.

In my own journey as a financial advisor, I experienced the “acceleration” of my career like back to back meetings and presentations and closed sales. Then life changed. I became a mom, again!

Last year, I had to slow down, not because I lacked ambition, but because my greatest assignment needed me at home. Motherhood became my priority, and I embraced that season wholeheartedly.

When I jokingly said, "Nagbalik-loob na ako," during our meeting, I didn't expect the theme “Driven” to hit me this deeply.

It reminded me that slowing down doesn't mean you've lost your purpose. It simply means you're preparing for the next stretch of your journey.

And that's exactly what this Branch Assembly felt like.

A full tank.
A reset.
A reminder of my mission.

I left the session inspired, recharged, and more driven than ever, not just to achieve goals, but to serve more families, protect more dreams, and make a difference in more lives.

Because success isn't measured by how fast you go.
It's measured by why you keep going.

So wherever you are today, whether you're accelerating, cruising, or parked at a pit stop, don't compare your journey to someone else's.

Refuel.
Realign.
Trust God's timing.

Then, when you're ready...

Shift gears, step on the gas, and keep moving forward.

Your mission is still waiting for you. ❤️

"Kaskas wisely." 💳✨

If you're going to spend anyway, spend smart.

I use mine for expenses na gagastusin ko rin naman like groceries, bills, travel, and other necessary online purchases. The difference? I earn cashback, points, discounts, and perks along the way.

Just one golden rule:
✔️ Spend within your means.
✔️ Pay your balance in full and on time.

A credit card isn't extra money.
It's a financial tool. Use it wisely, and let every swipe work for you. ✨
