Isinusulong ang kauna-unahang electric hydrofoil ferry (e-ferry) sa Manila Bay na inaasahang magpapabilis ng biyahe sa pagitan ng Mall of Asia (MOA) sa Pasay at Bataan sa loob lamang ng isang oras.

Sa isang post, ibinahagi ni Bataan 2nd District Rep. Albert "Abet" Garcia na tinalakay noong Hulyo 14 sa tanggapan ng Bataan Baseco Joint Venture Inc. (BBJVI) sa Maynila ang panukalang proyekto kasama ang mga opisyal ng Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) sa pangunguna ni Administrator Sonia Malaluan.

Ayon kay Garcia, ang e-ferry ay inaasahang magiging makabago, PWD-friendly, ligtas, abot-kaya, at environment-friendly. Kapag naisakatuparan, ang biyahe mula MOA hanggang Bataan ay tatagal na lamang ng isang oras, mula sa kasalukuyang dalawa hanggang tatlong oras.

Sinabi rin niya na maaaring bumaba nang hanggang 80% ang pamasahe dahil sa mas matipid na operasyon ng electric ferry kumpara sa mga sasakyang gumagamit ng diesel o gasolina.

Nagpahayag naman ng suporta ang MARINA at ire-rekomenda ang proyekto sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) upang mapondohan sa ilalim ng Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program.
