Be cautious during periods of economic uncertainty. When markets are unstable—whether due to political factors, inflation, or governance issues—maintaining sufficient liquidity is important. “Cash is king” in the sense that it provides flexibility, security, and the ability to respond to emergencies or opportunities.

The PSEi rose further as investors continued to pick up bargains as gains in the US and a stronger Pesk buoyed sentiment.
The main index added 29.44 points or 0.49 percent to close at 6,055.45 as the Property sector led the advance although Banks and Miners declined.
Volume dropped further to 928 million shares worth P5.91 billion as gainers outnumbered losers 113 to 81 with 61 unchanged.
“The PSEi continued its recovery run despite higher commodity prices as the local market tracked global movements, mirroring Wall Street’s performance,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
He added that, “A slightly stronger peso also provided a modest cushion supporting overall sentiment.”
Philstocks Financial Research Manager Japhet Tantiangco said the local market extended its gains as investors digest the House of Representatives and the Senate's approval of the proposal to give the President power to suspend or cut fuel excise taxes during emergency situations.
Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation Chief Economist Michael Ricafort said the PSEi was higher for the second straight trading day after global crude oil prices corrected slightly lower after Trump reiterated the need for countries to cooperate on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
