Sa mga customers & friend natin na tumatanong kung ano difference ng glass coating and ceramic coating.....
They are both under coating category that last for more than 2 years.
Glass coats are made of silica crystals or Si02 looks like glass. Nakapatong lang sya sa paint, maganda color enhancement features nya. Usually tumatagal lamang ito ng 2 to 3 years. It needs quarterly or yearly maintenance coat. Bawal shampoohin palagi.
While ceramic coats are made out of resin more durable, it bonds permanently on paint, better chemical resistance and last longer up to 7 years. No more yearly maintenance coat.
Both have similarities but different on how they bond to paint.
Glass coating adhears to paint by mechanical means. It sticks by
mechanical grip. Glass coating adheres to paint like glue. Sticky but not permanent
Bonding is temporary.
Ceramic coating reacts to paint by a chemical reaction ( covalent bonding - it bonds to paint on a molecular level).
It becomes a functional surface/component of your vehicles paintwork. It bonds permanently.
You could say Ceramic coating is welded to your paint and becomes
part of the paintwork while a glass coating is only glued to it.
Both are excellent products but another very important key is paint preparation.
Paintwork needs to be 100% free of contaminants for glass coating stick or ceraminc to bond permanently.
Sadly, several installers do not know how prep paint properly.
