A Licensed Physical Therapist TURNED Sun Life Licensed Financial Advisor

STORY:

I am Joynie Angielyka Z. Ganas, Physical Therapist turned Financial Advisor under Sun Life

I started my career as a Physical Therapist (PT) last year earning minimum wage. I had to do extra work after my 9 to 5 job so that my monthly income would just barely reach 15k.

But even then, I already felt blessed because that's more than what others earn.

When I started earning, I took it to heart to protect my hard earned money by using it wisely. So I followed one Page or Youtube Channel about Financial Literacy.

And it led to another, then another, until one day I just found myself applying all that I learned, all the while enjoying the process of budgeting and tracking my expenses.

Slowly, I started investing on little but valuable investments for myself and my family. I also set aside money for travel or my hobbies

I learned then that Financial Freedom doesn't mean you're terribly rich. For me, it meant having a budget for everything that you need and want, but not necessarily sinking in debt.

Being a Frontliner in the time of COVID19 made me realize how our hard earned money can be easily taken away by illness or sudden death.

Because I was at a high risk of being exposed to the virus due to the nature of my job, I began fearing for my Family. The thought of leaving them with nothing or straining them with hospital expenses if I fall ill was unsettling.

It was like God heard my concern because he then sent me Financial Advisors from different companies. All of them were obviously great at their job and are really genuine with their goal to help their clients. But the company I chose to help me insure my future is Sun Life.

I chose Sun Life not just because of their excellent track record for the past 125 years (First and Oldest Insurance Company in the Philippines),

or because their endorser is Papa P and Enchong Dee (Maybe just a little :D).
