The Bureau of CustomsโPort of Manila (BOC-POM), led by District Collector Rizalino Jose C. Torralba, conducted the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Port of Manila Customs Industry Consultative and Advisory Council (POM-CICAC) on September 7, 2026, bringing together key POM officials, valued stakeholders, and industry partners.
The meeting served as a platform for meaningful consultation and strengthened collaboration between the Port and its trade partners. Collector Torralba discussed the background and significance of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between POM and the Philippine Chamber of Customs Broker, Inc. (PCCBI), emphasizing its importance in fostering cooperation and strengthening coordination with the customs brokerage sector.
The highlight of the meeting was the signing of the MOA, led by Collector Torralba and PCCBI President Atty. Norberto V. Castillo. The agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to enhance cooperation and promote timely and efficient physical examination of shipments at the Port.
Following the signing, an Open Forum was conducted where POM-CICAC members raised operational concerns, shared observations, and presented recommendations. The matters raised were addressed by the concerned POM officials, reinforcing the Portโs commitment to responsive stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement of its services.
The activity reflects the leadership of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno in fostering stronger partnerships with stakeholders and promoting transparent, efficient, and service-oriented customs administration.
