Our last night in Europe after 2 weeks of travel, having dinner at an Italian seaside restaurant, feasting on fresh fish and cold beer! Spent the day with our partner ELMAN S.r.l., for the preliminary design meeting on our current AIS Monitoring Project in Oceania. We also took the opportunity to get better insights on some of the enhanced features of the PELAGUS software platform, and on the manufacturing process of their various communication hardware devices. A big thanks to all those concerned for your hospitality!

Managing packing and logistics and for remote area projects is a critical part of project management.

We are currently at the MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas AtoN factory in Valencia, Spain, packing containers of AtoN equipment for a long journey to Kiribati. There we will be installing and commissioning AtoN across 4 very remote islands for Hall Contracting, as part of a large The World Bank funded infrastructure project.

Each AtoN structure is packed in its own weatherproof wooden box, with all structural components, lanterns and fixtures included. This protects equipment from transport damage, reduces double-handling and re-consolidation, and ensures everything that is needed for the on-site installation is easily accessible and located in one place.

Also, a shout out to our logistics partner Hellmann Worldwide Logistics for all their assistance in dealing with our complex shipping schedule.

Can’t wait to see the equipment arrive at its destination and start the installation process!

In addition to the regular range of MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas AtoN products, M-NAV Solutions Regional Commercial Partnership has now been extended to include MSM Offshore and its full range of AtoN Equipment.

M-NAV Solutions now offers the full range of MSM Offshore Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind and Onshore Oil & Gas Terminal Marine Aids to Navigation equipment for the Asia-Pacific Region, and is ready to assist with equipment selection and design.

Another project milestone reached!

We were in Valencia recently at MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas factory, to complete a very important milestone for a major World Bank funded infrastructure project in Kiribati, with our client Hall Contracting and the project designers Arup. The project involves the design and construction maritime facilities at 4 different islands, to foster safe and efficient interisland transport and improve access to services for these remote island communities. M-NAV has been engaged to deliver the AtoN component of that project.

Design of infrastructure is critical for the long-term success of these projects. The preliminary period for this project included site investigations, community consultations and a detailed design led and undertaken by Arup.

This culminated in the design of an AtoN structure that met the project specifications for a modular AtoN structure that could manually assembled and installed using local resources, whilst still being designed and engineered for performance against local environmental conditions. Compliance to the relevant IALA Recommendations was also a primary requirement, ensuring the AtoN were of an international standard and easily recognizable to mariners. Our trip to Valencia was to carry out a trial assembly of that structure, which was witnessed by representatives of the KOITIIP Project Management team and the AtoN management team from Kiribati, and our associates from Hall Contracting and Arup.

It was great to finally get ‘hands on’ and see the results from an intense period of design and consultation. Results were successful and allowed the team to get a good understanding of the structure and to plan and move forward into the next phases of the project.
Onto the installation later in 2025!

An added plus – MSM took the opportunity for the entire workforce to celebrate World Marine Aids to Navigation Day. The Paella cooked on location and a tightly contested Foosball tournament made it a day to remember.

Our visit this past week to MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas in Valencia allowed us to see the production and testing process for a number of our current client orders. Here we have a MEL500, 3 Degree Sector Light, with mechanical oscillation. This unit is in the final testing phase, ready to be shipped to our client in Asia for installation at a critical port.

A couple of photos straight from the factory floor of MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas, Valencia, Spain! This consignment of AtoN is currently being consolidated for shipping to our client, and includes polyethylene buoys, polyurethane elastomer mooring buoys, buoy mooring systems, and stainless-steel pole structures. This equipment is destined for deployment at a Border Post facility in a very remote part of the South-West Pacific.

We have updated our website!

Now available on our website is the recently released MSM - Mediterráneo Señales Marítimas Solar Calculator / Lantern Selector for the full range of MSM Self-Contained and Stand-Alone lanterns. This is an excellent tool that streamlines the lantern selection process and ensures the selected lantern will satisfy the operational requirement.

In addition, we also now have a repository for all the MSM Product Data Sheets, which will be continually updated as new Data Sheet versions are released. This will ensure that our Agents/Distributors and End-Users always have immediate access to the latest and correct Data Sheets, which is critical for the equipment selection process.

INOVATON LIMITED are pleased to announce the release of CARDINAL DB, a limited-use version of CARDINAL that will be made available to Competent Authorities free of charge.

CARDINAL is an AtoN Asset Management System, with a suite of capabilities that allow AtoN users to comprehensively manage their AtoN assets, and better align with the Standards and Recommendations of IALA.

We understand that not all Competent Authorities and AtoN users have the same requirements, so we have developed CARDINAL DB as a free-to-use platform that provides a few critical capabilities of the main CARDINAL software platform. CARDINAL DB will provide access to an AtoN Site and Equipment Database platform, that includes a document storage facility and most importantly, the ability to create an AtoN Register at the click of a button.

CARDINAL DB will also allow for the updating of site information and equipment replacement, providing complete and accurate site history.
