Did you know that you can import chocolate without FDA clearance?

Chocolates can be imported into the Philippines without requiring clearance from the Food and Drug Administration, provided that they are for personal consumption and does not exceed 10 kilograms.

However, if importations claimed to be "for personal consumption" exceed the specified limit, and the FDA does not issue a clearance, the items will be seized and forfeited in favor of the government.

Are you planning to purchase books from abroad?

Good news! You can import books to the Philippines without paying any customs duties and taxes, as long as they are not intended for advertising purposes.

But take note, there are limits to the number of copies you can bring in. As an individual importer or recipient, you can only import up to six (6) copies of a single book, while institutional importers or recipients may import up to twelve (12) copies of any one book.

The Bureau of Customs Port of Zamboanga (BOC-POZ) destroyed a total of 19,419 cases and 667 reams of smuggled ci******es on 28 April 2023. The destruction took place in a Customs-rented warehouse in Barangay Baliwasan, Zamboanga City.
