He is my father. He was diagnosed with CKD (chronic kidney disease) years ago. He used to have many friends. I remember them well, and he had a huge circle of friends back then. They would get together every weekend, and I don’t remember a week without them hanging out. Inom dito, inom dyan inom magdamagan.
Before his CKD diagnosis, he had a very traumatic accident, which I think led him to this situation. I’ve seen him suffer a lot in various situations, and I’ve seen him at his lowest point in life. But a simple question lingers in my mind, Why wasn’t a single friend by his side when he needed them the most? In my vivid memory, I don’t recall anyone asking him, “Kamusta ka?”
Isang factor lang yung tumatak sa isip ko “hindi lahat ng kasama mo sa kasiyahan, dadamayan ka pag ikaw na ang nangailangan”. Hindi ko kasi maalala na nagkaroon kami ng family time nung bata pa kami. Hindi ko kasi maalala umalis kami buong pamilya para mag bonding. Well sa pagkaka alam ko kaya naman ng pera nila that time.
Why am I posting this, especially to people who are the same age as mine? Wag niyo ibuhos yung pera at oras niyo sa mga taong hindi naman kayo sasamahan hangang dulo. Mag invest tayo sa health natin, mag ipon, because not a single person you call a 'friend' will help you or show care. May malakas na katawan kayo at pera spend time with your kids and family, sila yung mag aalaga sainyo pag walang wala na kayo.
