"I’m April, 35 yrs old a mother of 3. Since last year, I am trying to look for the best insurance company that I could trust... but then I realized, it's not just a reliable company but instead finding a trustworthy financial advisor. Luckily, the day I decided to get my own life insurance, Ms. Rocel Dantoc sent me a message.

We used to be colleagues from our previous company. Never had a chance to be close to her during those periods for we are working on a different plant. Getting insurance is a big decision. Bakit? Kasi it involves money. Yes, hard earned money. Us Filipinos have this culture na pagaaralin ang mga anak naten tapos sila na bahala saten pag matanda na tayo... i had nothing against that. Pero diba mas ok kung napag aral mo ang mga anak mo then di kana nila problemahin pagtanda mo... diba mas magandang pamana sa mga anak naten yun at ikaw mismo kasi you will never had that guilt in mind na sana their hard earned money is for them to spent wisely. Yung nagkasakit kana, namatay kana pero nagbabayad pa sila ng utang.

I want this generation in my family to start that “not so new concept of preparing for pagtanda”. Di naten masasabi hanggang kelan tayo may work. Di naten masasabi ang pede mangyari pero we can prepare for it.

If you think matanda kana to start, it's never too late. If you think you're too young to invest in such a thing, the perfect timing is now.

We do not have that wealth that I can give my kids but para sakin giving them an insurance and me being prepared for my pagtanda would be the best.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. I "knew" how to save but I didn't know where the rest of my money was spent.

Empower your financial growth with these tips on how to save more efficiently.

1. SELF-CONTROL is very important. When I got my first credit card, I was excited to spend not thinking that it will eventually accumulate and soon hit me with mounting debts. After paying my debts, I cut my cards and retained only one that I only use for bills that I immediately pay to avoid charges.

2. KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES. There are many apps you can download to monitor your expenses easily. I recommend Money Manager or you can use the old style of writing in your notes or excel monitoring.

3. EMERGENCY FUND. We all know how those who had emergency funds during this pandemic saved most of us who lost jobs or had income downgrade.

4, PROTECT YOUR WEALTH. I have Insurance with Investment plans to prepare myself from price inflation when I retire and to manage my risks. I also have health plans to protect my loved ones from any burden if ever I get sick.
