In celebration of the international Day of Cooperatives, MAVENCO joins the Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-up Activity held in Kalawisan, Lapu-Lapu City, together with the Quad Cities of Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu City, and Talisay City.
The activity was initiated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) as part of its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and encouraging cooperatives to actively uphold the 7th Cooperative Principle: Concern for Community. Through this initiative, cooperatives united to help restore and protect coastal ecosystems while raising awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.
MAVENCO's participation reflects its unwavering commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community. Together with our active CEO, Jay Roble along with our staff and aflatoun members joined fellow cooperators in planting mangrove seedlings and cleaning the coastal area, demonstrating that collective action can make a meaningful impact on preserving our natural resources for future generations.
More than an environmental activity, the event served as a reminder that cooperatives play a vital role in community development. By working together, we not only strengthen our commitment to environmental stewardship but also embody the true spirit of cooperation, solidarity, and social responsibility.
As we celebrate the International Day of Cooperatives, MAVENCO remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that protect the environment, empower communities, and contribute to sustainable development for the benefit of present and future generations.
