Under the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) 𝗧𝗔 𝟵𝟵𝟭𝟵: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, supported by the 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, consultations are underway to develop concept designs for 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿.

From 9–10 December, representatives from LGUs of 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴, and 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶 and 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, with support from the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗗𝗛𝗦𝗨𝗗), reviewed and provided inputs to the draft site design concepts focusing on:

• 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with surrounding communities
• 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲, 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, including land availability, project financing, heritage conservation
• 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀, including policy and civil requirements, next steps and critical role of communities, public and private sectors

These discussions help turn shared ideas into clear next steps for creating more inclusive, livable, and resilient riverfront public spaces.

This initiative supports the Philippine government's Pasig River Urban Development (PRUD) project and the ADB’s Rejuvenating Pasig River for a Livable Manila (REPALM) initiative to enhance the livability and resilience of cities and communities along the Pasig River.

🌍 𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗮

ADB has approved a $763 million investment program to strengthen water supply, sanitation, and urban resilience in cities across Cambodia.

The 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙), 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺, is proud to contribute a $𝟯 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 to help lay the groundwork for resilient, well-managed urban development through:

🌊 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗜𝘀 𝗢𝘂𝘁 — 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙

The newly released Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO) 2025 reveals that 𝟮.𝟳 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 across Asia and the Pacific have been lifted from extreme water insecurity in the last decade. This is progress worth protecting.

But the report also sounds a clear warning: 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗮𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀.

💧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗪𝗗𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Water security is multi-dimensional — it’s not just supply, but sanitation, ecosystem health, disaster risk, and equitable access.
• Rapid, climate-driven urban change demands resilient systems: integrated water, wastewater and stormwater planning, sustainable financing, and transparent governance.
• Growth must be inclusive: safe water and sanitation access cannot be a privilege, especially for marginalized or underserved communities.

🌊 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗥𝗧𝗙

A high-level delegation from Viet Nam’s Ministry of Construction and national agencies completed an international study visit in Australia focused on strengthening the country’s water governance, utility performance, and climate-resilient infrastructure systems. The 𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗥𝗧𝗙), 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, together with the World Bank, supported the study visit.

The delegation met with institutions and utilities to explore practical approaches to water regulation, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, service aggregation, and sustainable financing. These insights will support Viet Nam’s ongoing water sector reforms, including the draft 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲.

• Expand recycled water and decentralized solutions in dense areas
• Embed resilience, circular economy, and net-zero principles in sector planning

The Urban Resilience Trust Fund (URTF) joined more than 42 Philippine city mayors at the 𝟳𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗟𝗖𝗣). 𝗟𝗖𝗣 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮 opened the event by underscoring the need to empower cities through stronger local governance, innovation, and solutions that allow communities to thrive. 𝗨𝗞 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 also highlighted the value of partnerships in building future-ready cities.

URTF shared pathways toward smarter, cleaner, and more resilient urban growth, with Gail Warrander and Marino Deocariza highlighting upcoming initiatives such as the 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗻 and 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀. They also revisited impact stories from URTF’s predecessor, the Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund — including the New Clark City masterplan review, community-led projects in four cities, and locally designed e-boats for fisherfolk in Laguna Lake.

Together with UK partners, URTF encouraged cities to share ideas and explore support that can turn practical, innovative solutions into real projects.

On 24 October, representatives from the Philippine cities of 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 and 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴, 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, with the support of 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, came together to conceptualize three potential green and public spaces along the Pasig River.

Under ADB's 𝗧𝗔 𝟵𝟵𝟭𝟵: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, supported by the 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁), the conceptual designs are expected to be completed by March 2026 and handed over to the government.

This exercise aims to reimagine the Pasig River as a vibrant, inclusive, and climate-resilient corridor that reconnects people and nature.

URTF is proud to support the ongoing efforts to 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿, including the development of a digital twin model and support to river clean-up initiatives.

The workshop, organized by the 𝗔𝗗𝗕 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗖𝗖𝗥𝗘) and 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗗𝟮-𝗪𝗨𝗗), covered everything from climate adaptation and mitigation to carbon markets, climate finance, and project lessons. Participants also engaged in hands-on activities and case discussions.

Air pollution is a silent crisis—99% of people breathe harmful air every day. Clean air isn’t just about health—it’s about equity, productivity, and resilience. When cities invest in cleaner air, they build stronger, fairer, and more sustainable futures.

𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱, 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗞 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, is proud to support 𝗔𝗗𝗕'𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (ACBSP) through its $𝟭.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗔 𝟭𝟬𝟱𝟯𝟳, for advancing cleaner, healthier, and more resilient cities across Asia and the Pacific.

During 𝗔𝗗𝗕’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, the Air Quality Working Group spotlighted how financing and partnerships can turn air quality goals into city-wide action. The session “Investing in Clean Air” featured the ACBSP, highlights from the Clean Air Fund’s The State of Global Air Quality Funding 2025 report, and discussions on how ADB trust funds, including the Urban Resilience Trust Fund, can scale solutions for cleaner air and climate resilience.

💡 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

✅Only 1% of international development funding goes to clean air projects (2019–2023)

✅65% of outdoor air quality funding flowed to just three countries—Philippines, Bangladesh, China—while many highly polluted countries received < $1 per person in 2023

✅ As the second highest financier of air quality globally in 2019–2023, ADB is bridging financing and implementation gaps—but we can do more!

Building on the discussions, a two-day 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝟵–𝟭𝟬 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿) was held for ADB staff and participants from governments of 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗞𝘆𝗿𝗴𝘆𝘇 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝗟𝗮𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝗡𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗨𝘇𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗺, focusing on practical tools to integrate air quality into project design and appraisal. The training walked participants through identifying air quality benefits, data needs and sources, quantifying impacts, linking solutions to climate action, and embedding stakeholder engagement and monitoring frameworks. It also included a clinic session where participants provided ideas for enhancing air quality benefits in the design of 3 proposed ADB investment projects.

💧𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟭.𝟳𝟴 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

On 29 September 2025, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Bangladesh signed agreements for a $𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 $𝟰 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, reaching unserved communities and tackling groundwater salinity to ensure reliable water during the dry season.

The $𝟰 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 from the 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙), supported by the 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺, will help the Khulna Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (KWASA) enhance operational efficiency and climate resilience by installing a 3.8-megawatt on-grid solar power system.

This partnership marks Khulna’s transition to climate-resilient, solar-driven, and smart water systems, protecting communities from dry-season salinity and helping the city manage its water resources more sustainably.

The 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗪 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 aims to transform 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗼, 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝘇𝗼 into eco-friendly and sustainable tourism destinations through strategic investments in urban services by:
♻️ Modernizing solid waste management
🚿 Upgrading sanitation systems
🌺 Advancing sustainable tourism development
🌱 Enhancing wetland and biodiversity enhancement

𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗙’𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 will cover:
(i) detailed engineering design and site investigations for project works
(ii) capacity building for government and communities
(iii) support for local initiatives in waste management, small-scale tourism, and nature conservation

On 28 August 2025, Aimee Hampel-Milagrosa, Senior Urban Development Specialist at ADB, met with officials from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Survey (MLHS) to discuss Noro Munda's new Land Planning Scheme and Capital Investment Plan.

That’s the central question explored in our article, “𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.” It looks at practical ways cities can work with communities, improve planning, and build systems that respond to the real needs of those facing rising seas, floods, extreme heat, and drought.
